Have you heard your kids talking about 'sleeping frog' and wondered what on earth they are talking about? Well worry not because here it is...

In every class (P1+) the children do a stretch called Sleeping Frog . This helps with opening their hips, and stretching their lower back and legs.

🐸

It massively helps with all dancing but especially with ballet. It allows for better movement when doing pliés - which is the fundamental step in ballet.

🩰

This stretch also acts as a way to settle children when they come to class. They change into their dance shoes and start the stretch.

🧒

The children see it as a challenge but one that they can complete. There are ‘levels’ that they have added since they have improved. This is great to see and helps them with their own sense of achievement.

It can seem trivial but a stretch like sleeping frog really helps in dancing.
