Behind every 2-hour party with Doodlebug is so much more than two hours. 🎨✨

There’s the prep beforehand — sourcing materials, planning activities, sometimes hand-drawing themed canvases, packing everything up and making sure it all fits your theme perfectly.

On the day we arrive early to set up and afterwards everything is cleared away.

People often ask, “What activities do you do?”

The short answer? Lots!
The longer answer? Probably too many to fit into one Facebook post…

The best thing about a Doodlebug making party is that you don’t have to pick something off a set menu. We can mix and match activities to create a party that’s perfect for your child and their friends.

Arts and crafts? Fully led or free flow!
Painting? Of course, canvas, faces, t shirts and more
Lip glosses? They make their own, scented? shimmer?
Cosmetic glitter gels? Definitely in allll the colours
Slime? You should see my charm selection!

Got an amazing idea you’ve seen online or something your child has been talking about for months? Send it over and let’s see if we can make it happen.

No clue where to start? That’s honestly the most common answer! Just tell me what they’re into, whether that’s sparkles, dinosaurs, princesses, Taylor Swift, unicorns, dragons or absolutely anything else, and I’ll come up with some ideas for you.

And here’s my favourite little life hack…

When you book one of our “making” parties, everything the children create goes home with them. Their masterpieces become their party favours, so there’s no need to spend the night before stuffing party bags! We can also provide a favour station with tattoos, stickers and more for an extra sprinkle of fun, and that’s one more thing ticked off your party to-do list.

Less stress for you, more fun for them. I think that’s a pretty good deal.

Hello, long time no post! The Doodlebugs have been out and about Facepainting and glittering all over the place with sprinkles of art and other fun stuff in between.

Yesterday we celebrated Miss Maisie’s 7th birthday with extra sparkle! We made cosmetic glitter gels, lip glosses in the cutest little bottles and then a slime session with glitter, sequins, beads and aaaaallllll the charms!

The boys did some glitter tattoos / stencil art and tried out some body painting but with so much going on I didn’t get to take many photos so thank you to Laura Deans for these!

I keep forgetting to post over here because I’m always hanging out over on the Doodlebug Facepainting page! 🎨

Since I last checked in, we’ve been busy creating all sorts of crafty chaos! We’ve made every type of canvas, stained glass-effect bookmarks, felt flowers, pamper goodies (including glitter gels and lip gloss), slime, bracelets, building plushies and the mini bug here is learning crochet… we even hosted a colour run!

At home we’ve brought art into our kitchen (see below) and set up simple diy art stations for communions and to keep littles amused at more “grown up” parties.

Now we’re getting ready for a giant K-pop party, plus an amazing creative party in a couple of weeks where we’ll be:

✨ Making custom cosmetic-grade glitter gels
💄 Creating shimmer lip gloss in the cutest little bottles
✨ Mixing our own glitter blends and applying glitter tattoos (with some to take home!)
🎭 Learning mini SFX arm painting techniques (with practice bits to take home)
🎨 And plenty more creative fun!

Remember, our parties can be completely instructor-led, or we can set up creative stations for free-flow play so everyone can make at their own pace or with mum.

Best of all? Everything they make comes home with them… so their creations become the party bags! Less to organise, less to spend, and lots more fun.

No need to buy party bags, they take the creations home with some carefully curated extras.

Our service is bespoke. We cater to your theme and attendees interests and abilities so that our parties are talked about long after the cake is finished and the cards are down!

A fantastic party this afternoon for Joy’s 9th birthday with our friends Doodlebug Facepainting.

Lots of happy girls heading home with their brand new plushie friends—each one filled with love and a special wish made on the hearts they tucked inside.

This was one of our Doodlebug Plushie Parties, perfect for groups of 6–12 children. Today’s activities included:

🐱 Build-a-plushie (with custom tag & tshirt)
✨ Glitter tattoos & glitter bar
👚 Birthday girl’s “sign my shirt” keepsake
🎉 Everyone’s-a-winner party game

Each guest also took home face gems, stickers and more, along with the accessories for their new cuddly friend 💕

The birthday girl’s verdict? A billion out of 10!
