After the Turning Point's recent Parliament / political showcase, we had an ideas session.
One of the things the cast wanted to explore was Makaton sign language.
Graeme (a daily user) is helping to teach the others & we're including it in our series of stand-alone workshops.
Today, 2 groups devised scenes to a brief & had to include (at some point) use of Makaton & a tableau.

At H-arts & Punch Productions ... we can't believe that it's 10 YEARS since we took Karen 's play Off-(off)-Broadway at the iconic The Duplex cabaret theatre!
Karen will endlessly hold this as ..."... a magical memory which still gives me butterflies" ... thanks to the support & encouragement of Punch colleagues, Cheri Smith & Jon Cuthbertson, Producers - Mind the Gap Theatre NYC (Paula D) , belief in & intros from Susan , support & friendship while there from Gail Ann Winar (Broadway's Roundabout company Theatre Educator, Producer, Director, Actor), Jenni & endless support from family & friends.
Dreams CAN come true xcx

We're just catching up here at H-arts ... Some pics from 'Seven Souls on Gallows Green ... Karen directed the recent minimally staged concert of songs from Composer, Alan Flemming-Baird's outstanding musical-in-progress.

Alan (Composer & visionary of this musical-in-development) has created utterly jaw-dropping songs & music.
Maria Wilson (of Starlight ... rock choir & youth theatre school) has created stunning choral arrangements, sung by some choir members.
Karen is irecting the more minimal staging.
A magical chance to see what is going to be an outstanding piece of musical theatre ... Come along so that you'll be able to say ... "I saw it first, in it's Paisley home!"

Something special is coming to this year's festival. A story that belongs to this town.

Some of these guys are going to be SMASHing their Ren Connect Houses of Parliament performance piece tomorrow for an invited audience of family, supporters & ... politicians etc.
They've worked really hard to devise & rehearse scenes which reflect their life concerns & fabulous humour.

The H-art camp, Karen & assistant, Declan Phillips along with Turning Point staff, Fiona Milne , Emma D & Claire L are all VERY excited to see these guys shining again!
