We are in the running to receive funding from Celebrating Renfrewshire but we need your help.

If successful, the funding would go towards the final fit-out of Exchange Paisley Performance Cafe, one of three main performance venues in Exchange which will host 'Huddle' - our bi-weekly programme of Q&A's, talks, live music, open-mic and spoken word events for young people, hosted in a vibrant cafe space designed to welcoming to all young people in Renfrewshire.

We are passionate about the many benefits of theatre-going from a young age, and one of the major motivations behind the redevelopment of Exchange, is to ensure there are more young people in theatres; watching, participating, creating, learning, volunteering and working.

That's why we're supporting UK Theatre Society's campaign, Theatre for Every Child, asking political parties to commit to providing funding and support to ensure that every child goes to the theatre by the time they leave school.

Work on the next phase in the development of Exchange Paisley, Scotland’s first theatre for children, young people and families commences this week in Paisley.

Grant Mason, Chief Executive, PACE Theatre said:
“This is a major step forward for the project; works completed so far have been largely focused on roof and rot repairs, so it will be exciting to see the internal features turning from a plan on piece of paper to a reality."

It is expected that the current phase will be complete later this year, but we are appealing to businesses and individuals to support the project by donating to our Million Pound Wall campaign, or offering in-kind support, to reach the fundraising total required to help complete the project in an increasingly challenging financial climate.

We're looking forward to welcoming people in to this space before it undergoes the next phase of its transformation. The building was constructed in 1932 and former uses include a dance hall, templar hall, telephone exchange and nightclub, and retains many original features.
