We appreciate we’ve had some disruption at the rink lately and we wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all of your support and understanding through these unexpected closures and session cancelations.

Our students, societies, members and regular hirers are really important to us, and we never want to leave our skaters disappointed, which is why we wanted to update you on what’s been happening over the past few weeks.

Last month the ice rink sadly suffered from an act of vandalism on our ice plant chiller as well as damage to the pipes that freeze the ice beneath the pad, putting many of our sessions on freeze.

Specialist contractors have already visited us to assist the team on fixing these issues and this will take some time to clear and restore the rink back to normal.

We are pleased to have been able to keep the majority of the rink open at the moment, but you will notice that a section is currently cornered off at the end goal near the window to allow the build-up of ice again in that area.

We hope to get things back to normal soon. Thank you for your patience and we hope to see you at the rink very soon 🩵
