S E L E C T E D A R T I S T S | I D O & I U N D O

We’re very excited to share the three 3D artists selected from our open call for the upcoming exhibition, I Do & I Undo.

Initially, we planned to select two 3D artists to exhibit in the show—but sometimes you're presented with a task so impossible that the rules must be bent. We’re delighted to announce that the three artists selected are –

Emily Gibbard, Anastassia Zamaraeva, & Heidi Inez

Emily Gibbard is a ceramic artist based in Bristol, UK. Her practice transforms wheel-thrown vessels into biomorphic sculptural forms that explore body perception, identity, and sexuality. Rooted in the traditions of pottery, Emily experiments with thrown forms to create abstract representations of the body.

Anastassia Zamaraeva is a sculptural ceramic artist based in London, UK. For Anastassia, the draw of clay lies in its innate ability to connect us to our unconscious and to past experiences of touch. Drawing from lived experience, she explores themes of home, grief, and gender, while maintaining craftsmanship as a core tenet of her practice.

Heidi Inez is an artist based in Buckinghamshire, UK. She illustrates women on ceramics, inspired by the eccentric, bold, and brilliantly dressed women she encounters on her commute in and around London. With a background in fashion illustration, she combines her love of ceramics and drawing to explore the multifaceted and complex nature of female expression.

I Do & I Undo opens on Friday 9 October. The private view will take place on Thursday 8 October from 6–8pm.

We look forward to sharing more details about the exhibition in the coming months.

New collection - a small family of vessels, each with its own character. Inspired by mid-century design, graphic textiles, and the joy of colour. The pieces combine layered patterns with glossy glazes to create objects that feel both playful and timeless.

A LI S O N P U L L E N

We are delighted to be adding new Alison Pullen paintings to the Summer Collection. Over the past few months Alison has been painting at Radley College. She was particularly taken with Stone Hall in the Mansion, the light streaming through the grand windows, and bouncing off the floor of this golden historic room, creating many interesting challenges and opportunities.

Alison's sophisticated practice explores in depth the medium of collage. The brush work has a lightness of touch and is instantly recoganisable as hers, allowing the collage below to shine through. The result is an ethereal, semi-abstracted work which seems to melt together, the details of the room emerging with each viewing, as if we are travelling through it ourselves.

Working in situ is central to Alison's practice, new venues present new creative challenges and inspiration as she resolves how to capture the space.

We are hugely grateful to Amanda Jewell for arranging permission for Alison to work there.

Enjoy our new collection by devoted dog-owner Virginia Dowe-Edwards!

Virginia creates charming dog sculptures from clay. Using roughly textured clay and smoke firing techniques, she creates dogs that are expressive and filled with movement and alive with detail – down to the floppy ears and paws complete with doggy toe-nails.

Marissa Weatherhead’s still life works sit within a delicate balance of abundance and fluidity. Plentiful tables of seafood, flowers, fruits and glasses of wine sit on large tables, accompanied by seaside or interior backdrops.

Marissa’s painting style simplifies her subjects, concentrating on what we know about an object through knowledge and visual understanding. Her exuberant colour palate invigorates her often familiar subjects, celebrating the small luxuries in life. When looking at Marissa’s paintings, we may be reminded of memories from past holidays, or bountiful banquets with loved ones.

Currently on show in the Summer Collection

M A R T H A W I N T E R

Martha Winter’s sculptural wall pieces reflect her fascination with the landscape and natural pattern. She keeps compositional elements to a minimum and uses repetition to emphasise the organic ordering of parts to create heavily textured surfaces. Her contemplative pieces highlight the elegance and complexity of mathematical patterns that surround us.

Martha’s process has come from many years of experimenting with materials. She sources various geological materials from either quarries or the other natural resources. The creative process begins by preparing the material, grinding it down or through meticulously separating it out. Using a variety of techniques this 'matter' is then applied onto an armature. Layer upon layer are built up, forming permanent and textural surfaces.

The Summer Collection is a curated group show with new works are added every few weeks for an ever changing presentation. Keep an eye on the website to see what's new!
