Body Politic A Hip Hop dance theatre company empowering communities through theatre and creative learning

1) Outreach:

Community and outreach are two of the driving forces behind our work. We want our work to reach audiences and people who don’t frequently have access to the arts through delivering bespoke education and outreach packages led by a team of highly experienced practitioners. We offered a subsidised programme of dance activity in Oxford, and work with school engagement officers, social se

rvices and other local organisations to target young people most at need.

2) Artist Development:

As an organisation we are passionate about investing in the continued development of our artistic workforce. We deliver transformative career pathways for young artists equipping them with the skills, confidence and leadership to inform future success. All of our programmes aim to nurture young artists through the development of transferable skills, boosting employability and representation within the cultural landscape.

3) Producing Theatre:

We work collaboratively with a range of artists to ensure that our artistic voice and foundation is continually evolving. In bringing together different diverse artists and prioritising shared learning it has enabled Body Politic to produce authentic, relevant and essential work.

Our final Creative Lab with this year’s Future Leaders cohort was pretty special. ✨

We stepped into the creative practice of Artistic Director , exploring themes, ideas and movement from her new work, No Place.

A beautiful authentic space to play, explore, get lost and try something new.

Creative development isn’t always about knowing where you’re going. Sometimes it’s about having the space, trust and freedom to not know, and see what emerges.

🔹 Minis Hip Hop (5–7yrs) • 4:00–4:45pm
🔹 Juniors Hip Hop (8–10yrs) • 4:45–5:45pm
🔹 Seniors Hip Hop (11–16yrs) • 5:45–6:45pm

📍 SATURDAYS | Oxford Brookes University
🔹 Juniors Academy (7–11yrs) • 10:00–11:30am
🔹 Beginners Academy (11–18yrs) • 11:45am–1:45pm
