Everyone is invited to attend our annual graduates’ showcase in London. The event will feature 15 current finalists who hope to join the industry performing monologues to top talent agents and industry professionals! Whilst seating priority is given to invited professionals, we have a selected number of tickets available to anyone who wishes to attend. We would love to see you there!

ELECTIONS ARE OPEN! VOTE NOW.

FOR THE ATTENTION OF ALL OUDS MEMBERS!

Elections for the OUDS Committee of 2026-27 are now open, and they close on Tuesday 10th March at 23:59.

Once again, due to the SU being unresponsive, we are running our elections via Microsoft Forms. The elections are completely anonymous, and only one vote can be submitted per person using only their university email.

The vote is based on a on a ranked choice voting system (RCV), and as per the by-laws (32), the current executive committee has decided that a maximum number of 12 candidates shall be elected onto the 2025/26 Standing Committee.

Follow the (VERY SIMPLE) instructions below to vote:

2. Log in using your university email.
3. Submit your response (you will only be able to vote once and you cannot edit your vote.)

The deadline for voting is Tuesday 10th March 23:59, with results announced the following morning.

It really is it that easy. Please exercise your right to vote and elect a committee that you want to see running the society from Trinity Term through next year.

OUDS National Tour 2026 - APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO SUNDAY 1st MARCH

We are inviting applications from any Oxford-based production company who has put on a show in Oxford this academic year to receive OUDS support to tour that production nationally. If your show was staged in a previous academic year, please get in touch with us at [email protected] and we’re happy to discuss eligibility.

What the tour looks like:
The itinerary, locations, logistics, and scale of the tour will be up to the company - offering a huge amount of creative and practical freedom, with only light-touch OUDS oversight.

Funding:
The OUDS committee will apply to CMDF on the successful production’s behalf for a significant grant to help cover accommodation and living costs while on tour, alongside a Guarantee Against Loss.
As a reference point, past OUDS National Tour productions received a £1,000 Guarantee Against Loss and a £2,000 upfront grant from CMDF (subject to approval).

What we’re looking for:
Applications are welcome for new writing or established texts. We’re especially keen to support work that:
• Represents the best of student theatre: artistically ambitious/interesting, with a clear and distinctive vision rooted in student perspective
• Is led by a team that sees touring as part of their personal/professional development in theatre
• Connects creatively to the diversity of experience within the University of Oxford and its local community

Your application should include:
• Basic details (production title, company, writer, confirmed funding + additional funding plans if applicable)
• Your artistic ambition and vision
• Proposed tour locations, motivations for touring, and logistics approach
• Your marketing strategy: who your audience is and how you’ll reach them
• How the work connects to diversity of experience in Oxford and its community
• A budget (see the OUDS website for support with this)
• If submitting new writing, we will also ask for a script

OUDS ACTING COURSE - THIS SUNDAY 10:30-1:30pm

Hello OUDS! I’m here to let you know about a very exciting opportunity - Anna Tolputt, professional actor and director, will be leading a 3-week Acting Course open to anyone and everyone.

If you are completely new to acting and want to give it a go, if you are seasoned and want to refresh your skills going into audition season, if you’re a director and you want to learn some skills in the room - come along! The course is completely beginner friendly and open to everyone - if you’ve never been in a show or have been in 500000 - make the most of this opportunity!

Did I mention it’s completely free?? Training like this in the real world does not come for free - take the chance whilst you can!

The dates of the course are:
SUNDAY 22nd 10:30-1:30pm (THIS Sunday)

The aim of the course is to feel upskilled over 3 weeks, therefore it would be beneficial if you can come to each of the 3 sessions - but if you can’t attend all 3 - not to worry! Just let us know in the form which ones you can make.
