Meet our last of five singers for Saturday’s concert.

Tamsin Slatter started singing in earnest in her teens when she was cast as Polly in The Boyfriend. She then sang with Bracknell Choral Society and Windsor and Eton Operatic Society and had ambitions! Day job and life diverted her, but she returned to singing in 2015, joining Newbury’s Kennet Opera. Since then, she’s performed as a regular soloist in concerts such as ‘Mozart’s Last Year’, ‘Pop-Up Puccini’ and ‘Viva Verdi’. In Kennet Opera’s annual staged production, she has sung the roles of Tisbe (La Cenerentola, Rossini), Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro, Mozart), Dido (Dido & Aeneas, Purcell), Constanza (Die Entführung dem sérail, Mozart), Giulietta (Tales of Hoffman) Offenbach and Mrs Hayes (Susannah, Carlisle Floyd). She has recently been cast as Lady Billows in Kennet’s forthcoming production of Britten’s Albert Herring.

Tamsin is often delighted to be offered the honour of being the soloist with the Lambourn Good Friday Choir, directed by Susan Norman. Works include Mass in G Minor, Vaughan Williams; Eine Deutsche Requiem, Brahms; Requiem, Bob Chilcott; Mass in G, Schubert. She also co-organised a concert with Susan Norman to raise money for the organ fund.

She has studied singing with Justin Bindley, Fiona Dobie, Hilary Fisher and Panaretos Kyriatzidis. For the last 3 years, she has studied opera performance at Morley College which included stagecraft with William Kerley. She is looking forward to a week of masterclasses and opera scenes at Oxenfoord in August.

Our second tenor is Daniel Emlyn-Jones. He’s based in Oxford and has been engaged in the endlessly challenging, fascinating and rewarding process of learning how to sing for many decades now. He won the Roy Harvey Memorial Cup at the Oxford Music Festival in 2023 and is currently studying opera on Saturdays at Morley College, London, with wonderful vocal coach Pan Kyriatzidis and wonderful director Will Kerley. When not singing he is also a keen playwright. His play ‘Veiled’ was runner up in the Oxford Theatre Guild Playwriting competition 2019 and his short play ‘Dreamboat’ won the Snowdance Comedy Festival 2025 (second place). When not singing Daniel tutors schoolchildren online, but in a previous career was a microbiologist working in UK and Australia.

Our next performer is classical soprano Gayle Walker.

Gayle has a broad range of choral and solo experience; she has performed with The Gabrieli Choir Budapest, Oxford based chamber ensemble The Cherwell Singers, and has also had the pleasure of joining a larger group performing alongside BBC Elstree Concert Band at Dorchester Music Festival in 2017. She holds a bachelor of music degree with honours from Aberdeen University and has had private vocal lessons since the age of 14.

Gayle currently studies with Madeleine Holmes and has attended masterclasses with Katharina Megli and Sarah Leonard.

During her years at university she was a regular chorus member of opera societies in a range of productions from Bizet's Carmen, Purcell's Dido and Aeneas to Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance and The Sorcerer. Solo roles include the 1st Child Spirit Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Filippyevna Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin and in April 2023 the 1st Attendant in a concert performance of John Weldon's The Judgement of Paris.

As a soloist, her repetoire is diverse ranging from popular operatic arias, art song, musical theatre ballads and American Songbook standards. She is currently learning Italian. This has provided her with the opportunity to travel, undertaking a residential week in York Minister in 2018 and an intensive week exploring Italian arias in Florence. More recently she was delighted to have the opportunity to attend the Veneto Opera Summer School with Melofonetica performing as part of the Arte Lirica Festival 2024.

Our concert simply couldn’t take place without an our fabulous collaborative pianist, Sally Goodworth.

Sally Goodworth has a busy career as an collaborative pianist. She has worked with The London College of Music, The Oxford Flute Summer School, the RAF, Berkshire Maestros, and Candlelight Opera. Since studying at the RNCM and Manchester University she has performed with many duos and ensembles throughout the UK.

Sally was a visiting collaborative pianist, lecturer in keyboard skills, and a mentor in piano pedagogy at Reading University for many years and currently holds a full-time position as Music Coordinator at Brunel University, where her roles include being musical director for degree and extra-curricular musical theatre productions as well as teaching piano, directing chamber and vocal ensembles, and organising the music award scheme. She is also head of piano for MTB Exams. One enormous claim to fame was her work on the last Poirot film, Curtains where she performed as a hand double for Helen Baxendale’s character.

We’re getting excited about Saturday’s concert.

Our next performer is Owain Llŷr Davies.
Owain has enjoyed singing from an early age, singing in choirs and performing at Eisteddfodau. His first move into singing opera began with a few lessons at the Royal Welsh College in Cardiff. He soon went on to join AberOpera while studying for his PhD at Aberystwyth University, performing in many concerts in and around the area. During this time, he played the role of The Defendant (Edwin) in Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury. He developed his voice further in Aberystwyth with mezzo-soprano Stephanie Windsor-Lewis, before moving to Abingdon for work. Owain performed on two summer courses in Scheggino, Italy, firstly in Il Viaggio a Rheims, followed by Guglielmo Tell. He joined Kennet Opera in the Summer of 2025, performing in Carlise Floyd’s Susannah in January 2026. He has recently been cast in the title role in Kennet Opera’s forthcoming production of Britten’s ‘Albert Herring.’

With just a few days until our first concert on July 11th at Sandford on Thames, it’s time to meet our performers.
First, we’re delighted to introduce Lusine Yeghoyan.

Lusine is a soprano who graduated with a BMus (HONS) Performance degree (2023) from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London. She has been a member of Morley Opera School in London, taking part in opera scenes as a soloist and a chorus member under the eye of experienced coaches and stage directors. Throughout the learning process she participated in masterclasses with world class musicians. She is also passionate about oratorio and choral music and has been a member of baroque choir, as well as a symphony chorus. She has been a part of the BBC Symphony Chorus, season 2024-2025, and sung with them in the Barbican Theatre and in the Royal Albert Hall at the Proms 2025. Currently she is
managing a café full time and keeping voice training as her passion.
