Spring is definitely around the corner, we’ve seen a little bit of sun over the last two days and what a difference it makes. I’ve got a lot of tidying in the garden to do this weekend and I can’t wait! Looking forward to pruning back, tidying borders and most of all checking all of the hostas!!

I don’t know about you, but I always struggle with January (the month of 547 days) and February (the murky month), so I try and get out into the garden as much as possible. It’s now that I’m starting to see the first signs of Spring, snowdrops under the oak trees, the green shoots of the narcissi and the buds on the hellebore.
So I decided to create “Spring Tide” - with all the future promise of what lies ahead!

I used to be a shepherd, so I’ve included a Scottish Black Face sheep in amongst the daffs to really bring it home that Spring is not too far away! I feel brighter already!

If you’re feeling like the winter blues are about to set in, get yourself outside and look for the first signs of Spring to give you something to look forward to.

Happy New Year to you all!! Hope this year brings you health, wealth and happiness!

Well over the break I’ve added lots of detail to the coastal collection in readiness for Spring. Lots of plants and flowers added to each cottage to brighten up the place, and tiny detail added to the shops, pubs and hotels!

The very front row is one piece, featuring the hustle and bustle of a working harbour.
The second and third row are all individual cottages that I’ll be listing over the coming weeks.

I’m already planning the next collection - colours and design decided now to start cutting, sanding and painting!

A bit of a change from my Winter and Coastal cottages. This is “For Heather Moor” a quiet cottage somewhere on a British Moorland, big skies, warm breeze, purple heather, drying washing and hand made sheep nestled in the landscape.

One of my favourite parts of creating is getting lost in the details. I love thinking about how every little element works together to build a mood — a place you can escape to for a moment. I want you to feel like you could step right into the scene, and spot something new each time you look.

This is where my motto “more is more” really shines… although Mrs H would disagree — she’s all about simplicity. (Maybe that’s why she married me! 🤣)

“Sea Pinks” - A Life In the Hebrides is my latest miniature creation. An idyllic Croft, a peaceful location surrounded by sea pinks and marram grass, gently blowing in the breeze.

This scene is tiny, (it sits in the palm of my hand), on a piece of weathered drift wood, collected from the beaches of Anglesey. I can honestly say that it is so much more in real life.
