Yesterday, The Stahl was unexpectedly graced by a very special performer!

With the stage doors open while we were clearing Treasure Island from the stage, this beautiful cat casually strolled into the theatre and immediately made himself at home. He explored the stage like he owned the place before heading into the foyer, where he quickly became the star of the show.

Needless to say, he was a huge hit and stole the hearts of everyone. Productivity may have taken a slight hit as we abandoned our work to give him the attention he clearly deserved!

For a brief moment, he stole the spotlight, distracted us all from our jobs, and brought plenty of smiles to the theatre. We think it's safe to say he's welcome back anytime. 🐾🎭

The opening night for Treasure Island has been a huge success. Here are a few photographs from the dress rehearsal on Wednesday night.

The set is nearly complete, the costumes are coming together beautifully, and our cast have been hard at work learning to fight, sail, and swagger like real pirates!

Our next big school production, Treasure Island, is coming up on the 11th, 12th, and 13th of June!

Paul, our talented set designer, has been hard at work—and we’ve already caught a sneak peek of him in the workshop bringing the parrot to life.

We can’t wait to see the finished set… and of course, the parrot in all its glory. It’s shaping up to be something special!

What a fantastic evening we had at The Stahl on Friday night, as we welcomed a truly captivating performance of Later Life Letter.

Our performer delivered a deeply moving and beautifully observed piece, balancing humour and poignancy with remarkable ease. The audience was completely absorbed from start to finish — a real testament to the warmth, honesty, and skill brought to the stage.

Later Life Letter has already received wonderful feedback, praised for its insightful storytelling and emotional depth, and it’s easy to see why. Friday’s performance more than lived up to that acclaim.

After the show, it was a pleasure to see the connection continue, as he spent time in the foyer meeting audience members, signing copies of his book, and chatting with such generosity and enthusiasm. Moments like these make live theatre so special.

A memorable night all round — and one we’re very proud to have hosted.
