Week 9 of our American Culture Term: This week we are studying ‘Owl’s Bouquet’ by Kenojuak Ashevak.
Kenojuak Ashevak was a famous Inuit artist from the Arctic.
‘Owl’s Bouquet’ shows a colourful owl surrounded by beautiful shapes.
Inuit art often celebrates animals, nature, and imagination.

A challenging project this week but both our all abilities class really got into it and produced some wonderful Totem polls. Full of character and stories- just as they should be.

This week, we are drawing and painting Totem Poles using marker pens and watercolours.
Totem poles tell stories about families, history and animals. They are not worshipped, simply used as storytellers.
Come back to see our young artists interpretations at the end of the week.

An amazing collection of Paintings produced last week. A culmination of two weeks work with mixed media.
Watercolour, pencils, and soft pastels.
I am amazed by the progress achieved by all of our students.
Well done everyone- great week. 🤩

Over the last 2 Saturdays, our intermediate class completed a mixed media piece of the Great Plains.
2 x 1.5 hour lessons, using watercolour paints, watercolour pencils, and soft pastels.
Our intermediate classes are 1.5 hours long , giving more time on harnessing those skills and focussing on the details.
Saturdays at Oswestry Memorial Hall 10:45 - 12:15 £24, suitable from 9y +.

How wonderful to see these pieces created over 2 weeks come to life this week. Each individual style shining through with their own choices of vibrant colours.

Adding pencil and soft pastels to add both depth and detail.
