Just under a week until opening night of ‘Sheila’s Island’, the final play of our 2025/26 season. This very funny play by Tim Firth sees Sheila, Denise, Julie & Fay stranded on an island in the middle of Derwentwater following a slightly disastrous start to their work team building event. As they struggle to keep spirits up while waiting for rescue, personalities clash and deep-seated tensions are released…

‘Sheila’s Island’ runs from Monday 18th to Saturday 23rd May, curtain up 7.45pm. Tickets are available from our box office on 07455 113511 or via www.ticketsource.co.uk/attfield.

The Pennine Mineral Water Company are holding a senior management team building event in the Lake District and Team C - Sheila, Denise, Fay and Julie - are confident they’re going to win. Unfortunately, they didn’t reckon with Sheila’s questionable orienteering skills and Denise’s complete lack of interest in actually being part of the team! But it’s ok because Fay has spotted a rare gyrfalcon and Julie’s got some sparklers…

We will be holding an Open Morning on Saturday 18th of April at 10.30 at the Attfield Theatre.
If you’ve ever fancied sneaking a peek behind the scenes, and would like to find out more about getting involved with putting on our plays, this is your chance to join us for a tour of our theatre. You’ll also meet members who help with the techy bits - operating lights and sound, stage managing productions etc - as well as our dedicated team of set builders and painters, and generally find out about all aspects of putting on a performance.
So please come along and join us for a cup of coffee (and maybe a biscuit or two…) - all welcome!

Our next social play reading will be held on Thursday 16th April, 7.30pm in the Walford Davies Suite in the Guildhall. We will be reading ‘Sign of the Times’ by Jeremy Kingston, a comedy about star crossed lovers. Come along and take a part, or just listen and enjoy a glass of wine and some nibbles!

*Please note that this is not a performance or casting for a play*

This is a social event for members but we welcome visitors too so if you’ve got any friends or family who fancy dipping a toe into our acting world, this is the place to start. In a relaxed social environment people take turns to read some or all of a character’s part in the play. We provide wine and nibbles to fuel the evening’s activity!
It’s free to attend, you don’t have to buy a ticket but you will be a member of the Attfield for the evening - we look forward to seeing you there!

Looking back to our wonderful production of ‘Private Lives’ at the beginning of March.
Audiences thoroughly enjoyed this acerbic comedy from the pen of Noel Coward, which follows divorced couple Amanda and Elyot as they discover, while honeymooning with their new spouses, that they are staying in adjacent hotel rooms.

“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind;
And therefore is wing’d Cupid painted blind.
Nor hath love’s mind of any judgement taste;
Wings and no eyes figure unheedy haste: And therefore is love said to be a child, because in choice he is so oft beguil’d”

Join our youth group, A Little Bit Dramatic, for the opening night of their performance of Shakespeare’s classic ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. Running from Wednesday 25th to Saturday 28th March, tickets are available from our box office on 07544 113511 or by visiting www.ticketsource.co.uk/attfield. Doors open at 7.15pm, curtain up at 7.45pm.
