This week we’re welcoming groups of young people into Under the Skin, our new immersive theatre project exploring knife crime, the choices that can lead to someone carrying a knife, and the impact one moment can have on so many lives.

A massive thank you to everyone who came along yesterday. We’ve had some really brilliant, open conversations after each performance, hearing what young people noticed, what stuck with them and what they wanted to talk about.

Thanks to everyone who threw themselves into the experience and shared their thoughts so openly. I Love Oldham Oldham College and University Campus Oldham Oldham Youth Council Nxt Gen ABC Oldham

We’re inviting Year 7 and 8 students to take part in UNDER THE SKIN, a powerful new immersive theatre experience exploring knife and weapon related crime.

Created by Oldham Theatre Workshop, Oldham Community Safety and Oldham Youth Service, the experience places young people inside an unfolding story about choices, pressure and consequences.

We’re asking schools to identify small groups of young people who they feel may particularly benefit from taking part.

That might include students experiencing increased peer pressure or challenging influences, those vulnerable to risky behaviour, or young people for whom an early preventative experience could be especially valuable.

🎟️ Up to 8 young people + 2 staff per booking

Please tag your school, pastoral team, safeguarding lead or anyone working with Year 7 and 8 students who should know about this.

They’ve been taking part in a photo and video shoot for the show’s promotion, alongside the Coliseum’s new Creative Director Nick Bagnall and two of the production’s leading actors.

And the location? Oldham’s iconic Liquid & Envy nightclub! What an incredible setting for what promises to be a bold and exciting production of Macbeth.

We loved being part of today and can’t wait to see the finished photos and films.
