It’s that time again, we're beginning the take-in for Oldham Open entries. It's one of our favourite times of the year, as we always get to see an amazing range of talent from across the borough.⁠

Bring your work to the gallery between 3 - 5 September, 10am-4pm, along with your entry form. The show opens to the public on 19 September. A message from our friends Oldham Libraries

Royton Library will be temporarily closed from Monday 24 August while essential building works are carried out. We’ll keep you updated and share re-opening information as soon as possible.

Alternative library services are available across Oldham, along with free digital resources including eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines. Find your nearest library: https://hla.oldham.gov.uk/libraries/
Books can be returned to any Oldham library.

Families – looking for a free summer activity? 👀

Take on the Lotta and Lola Museum Trail at Gallery Oldham – a fun, accessible spotter trail perfect for children aged 4+ and their siblings. Pick up a free trail sheet from the Bee Landing and follow the trail around the galleries to help Lotta and Lola collect kind words. Collect a free sticker from our lovely gallery staff when you’ve found all the words!

The is run by Kids in Museums in partnership with Simon Kids UK and Art Fund.

Gallery Oldham is open Tuesdays to Saturdays 10am – 5pm and the Lotta and Lola Museum Trail runs until 12 September.

Dave Draws has been doodling all day long, from Spindles Shopping Centre to Chadderton Library!

❤️We've met so many lovely people, sharing great stories about where we live.

🎨Dave will be doodling our very own Oldham Doodle Map in The Market week commencing 14th September. When he will bring your ideas and our town to life.

We have a fabulous Artist Network full of talented Artists and really great people here at Oldham's Heritage Libraries and Arts service.

Each month we’ll be putting the spotlight on an Artist from the Oldham Artist’s Network. This month we’re celebrating EvaD Ould-Okojie.

📣EvaD Ould-Okojie

🎉EvaD (pronounced A-va-D) and also known as Soleil Dee, is a Manchester-based textile artist who creates vibrant handmade works using African fabrics, including ankara and batiks. Inspired by her Nigerian and British heritage and her love of all things bright and bold, her work explores themes of identity, belonging and cultural connection through contemporary textiles. In 2024, she presented her debut solo exhibition, Melting Pot here at Gallery Oldham, showcasing a colourful collection of textile pieces celebrating the richness of her dual heritage.
