We are beyond proud to announce our 2026 season ACT Nominations!
It’s always an honour to be recognised for the hours of hard work that goes into each and every production, and to have an evening that allows us all to celebrate the mutual love of theatre!

Another fantastic production with Congress Players, with MSL providing lighting, sound and experienced operators for Gypsy - The Musical.

The director - Mat Hepplestone - had a really clear vision for the production. A deliberately restricted red and white lighting palette, designed to complement the open theatre set and use the drapes, scenery and performers to create bold shadows, silhouettes and depth across the stage.

With so much of the theatre exposed to the audience, the lighting design extended beyond the performance space itself. Even the mic rack, visible in the wings, got the red treatment to make sure it became part of the overall look rather than distracting from it! 🔴

A great example of how a simple, carefully controlled colour palette can create a really distinctive atmosphere and work hand-in-hand with the director’s vision.

A pleasure as always working with the Congress Players team! 💚
