Jazz Vanguard continue in their monthly Sunday evening slot on Sunday 7 June at 7:30pm with guest musicians Tom Neil on Piano and Joe Mackley on tenor Saxophone.

Royal College of Music graduate Joe Mackley is a rising saxophonist making his mark on the London jazz scene. Since graduating with first-class honours in jazz and classical saxophone in 2022, he has studied with leading UK players including Leo Richardson, Graeme Blevins and Will Vinson. Following a sold-out debut at The Spice of Life, Joe has performed at top venues including Hampstead Jazz Club, Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho and Ronnie Scott's. His sound blends the influence of jazz greats like John Coltrane, Joe Henderson and Joshua Redman with a fresh, distinctive voice of his own.
Tom Neill is an accomplished artist and producer based at Prime Studios in Windsor. A versatile pianist, he has performed at venues across the UK, from the Dundee Repertory Theatre to Portsmouth's New Theatre Royal, and has composed music for theatre and film, including the BAFTA-nominated documentary Mighty Penguins. His screen credits include featured musician roles on Downton Abbey and Peaky Blinders, as well as the upcoming film Pressure, where he also worked as hand double and piano coach for the principal cast. A regular member of funk and soul five-piece Tunehead, Tom is delighted to join Jazz Vanguard for this special evening of music.
