University of Aberdeen Founders Week 💫

Looking for something engaging to do post Spectra?

The University of Aberdeen is hosting their annual Founders Week this week!

Paying tribute to its historic origins, the event reflects on the important role the university continues to play in education and research whilst celebrating the support of its benefactors over the centuries.

Throughout the week long event, 9th -16th of February, there will be a range of events such as a Discovery Day, Cafe Sci, lectures and Chapel tours and services.

We are OPEN for our FINAL night ⚡️

A few reminders:

- Spectra will open from 5:30-10pm. Last entries to the festival will be at 9:30pm, giving you plenty of time to explore!

- Peak times are usually between 5:30-7:30 with 8.30-10pm being steady but with shorter queue times. Those planning to come in for 8:30pm to avoid the crowds are encouraged to check out the local businesses in and around the city centre before their visit.

- WeToo Ninja's will be on hand for any accessibility requirements with their help desk situated in the Trinity Centre and The Aberdeen Townhouse

- Entry to Union Terrace Garden's installation will be from Rosemount Viaduct NOT Union Terrace.

- Dogs are welcome to Spectra but guests must have their pets on leads at all times. Owners are also reminded that Spectra does attract very large crowds which some dogs may find upsetting. This excludes Aberdeen Art Gallery where only service pets are allowed.

- Accessible parking will be available on Blackfriars Street, Queen Street and Littlejohn Street - this is for blue badge holders only and is on a first come first serve basis

- Bag searches will be in operation at the festival
