The Aberdeen University Concert Band is a brass, woodwind, and percussion band which welcomes players of all levels. We meet regularly each Tuesday 6-8pm (during term time) to rehearse a vast repertoire of Concert Band Music. Our concerts happen all through the year with our main end-of-semester concerts in winter time and Spring time. You will also see us perform at smaller events throughout the
year. The Band is affiliated with and connected to The University of Aberdeen. This is a student-run society, run and supported by both The University of Aberdeen Student Association and The University of Aberdeen Music Department. Our Society welcomes everyone from students, lecturers, alumni, and the community. We are non-auditioned, so please feel free to come along whether you are an expert or novice, all we ask is that you can read music and have a love for concert band and ensemble playing. We play all types of music that are suited for a Concert Band - from Classical pieces to Jazz, Showtunes to Film Scores, Military Band to Big Band- so there is something for everyone! We have socials and events running all through the academic year, with a weekly social each Tuesday after band, please do not hesitate to come and meet some of your band members. Concert Band is not just about the music it's about making friends and having fun performing as a group!
