Jolanta (flute, Masterclass for Accompanists) has updated her repertoire for 2022.

As originally published:
Robert Muczynski - Sonata for Flute and Piano Op14. (core)
JS Bach - Sonata in B Minor BWV 1030 (core)
Nielsen - Flute concerto.

She has now added the Widor Suite for Flute and Piano op 34. as core repertoire, with a choice of movements, and removed the Hue Fantaisie.

Sadly, after much reflection, we have concluded that the reliance on the Government's “roadmap” continuing on schedule (although we hope that it does!), combined with major new logistical challenges and short timescales, means that there is simply too much uncertainty to be able to commit to a course of any sort this year.


We fervently hope that we all stay healthy and can enjoy a summer of socialising and music even if only in small groups.


There will be a plan for summer 2022!

Contemplating as we are the end of a week in which CSSM has not taken place, we are also thinking about the evening ahead in which there will be no Cabaret.

Whilst we appreciate the void that the sad but necessary cancellation of CSSM 2020 leaves in the musical calendar, we are also aware of what will be an even more keenly felt absence, that of the update to the Annual Report: the Travel Diaries of our Peripatetic Representative. This would of course have been presented to you late this evening, Friday 7th August, during said Cabaret in the normal way.

In order to keep us in touch with the wider world at this time of restricted personal travel, somehow even in these sadly straitened circumstances we have found the means to continue the CSSM Travelling Scholarship; indeed, I am unsure exactly how our representative made it across international borders quite so readily - perhaps it is better not to inquire too closely.

Suffice it to say that instead of the usual end of week gathering after the last concert, I hope you will all enjoy this short video report presented to you with great dedication and determination by our regular commentator:

To everyone we hoped to be welcoming to the 2020 course at Uppingham School today, we are thinking of you and hope you have the opportunity to sing and play your instruments at home, or with friends in your bubble... and we are looking forward to seeing all of our regular students with some new faces next year. Sadly, we have to announce that due to the Covid-19 precautions we are unable to run our 2020 summer school.

We hope to have an event later in the year if at all possible, and will keep that under review.
We intend to run again in the summer of 2021 with the same fantastic staff and repertoire at the same wonderful venue.

Calling all wind players! We're looking to encourage new people onto our Wind Chamber Music Course, tutored by David Cowley, at Uppingham School 1-8 August 2020. We know there are lots of players who'd love this chance to play in a wind quintet but matching people together takes time and consideration so please register your interest with us ASAP.
