"BETWEEN THE TREES"

A red stag amongst a dappled woodland, created using recycled papers, layered parchment, gouache and watered acrylic. A bit of a challenge, but I love how it came together.

I've had this one in my head for a while, and patiently waited for the right frame to come along to compliment it. I wanted to create something that felt soft and quietly enchanting; and I think it suits the beginning of September quite nicely. 🍂

'BETWEEN THE TREES" will be at this weekend's on the 5th.

The Museum will be joining the celebrations with its Family Events Day: Celebrating Nuneaton.

Explore stalls from local arts and community organisations and discover more about the people, history, creativity and organisations that make our town special.

There will also be a FREE creepy-crawly make-and-take activity for younger visitors! 🐛🎨

Head to The Station Gallery at Nuneaton Train Station for a celebration of local art and creativity.

Abbey Theatre are going the whole hog with day and night time events.

Working on something that feels enchanting ✨

Unlike most traditional processes, I choose the frame to enhance my work and become part of the piece, rather than simply sitting around it.

90% of the frames I source are secondhand, and I love how each one can add that extra little bit to the story.

"GREEN BARON"

A little more of the story behind this one, now happily off to its new home.🦋

One of my earlier pieces while finding my own path in mixed media, this butterfly was painted onto a handmade recycled canvas board, with its beautiful colours inspiring a taxidermy-style composition.

It became an important turning point in the direction of my work and later placed 3rd in the Nuneaton Arts Festival in the Animals category;

It's new owner spotted it at my recent market and immediately fell for it. She hesitated over the purchase, then changed her mind within a few minutes and decided it was coming home with her. 🥹

That genuinely made such a difference to my day. Knowing it meant that much to someone was incredibly special.

Thank you for giving this little butterfly a new home. 💟

A BIG THANK YOU!

To the organisers, volunteers and everyone from Nuneaton and beyond who came along and supported me today, thank you.

This was only my second market since taking the plunge and bringing my work to events like this, and it’s been truly heartwarming.

We had a bit of a blunder during the morning setup, but the community spirit was well and truly out in force 💪

I’ve received so many lovely comments on my newest series, 'FIELD OBSERVATIONS', sold some pieces, and had a really wonderful turnout overall.

To any new who found me today, welcome!

And to everyone who stopped by, chatted, admired the details, asked about my work or took a piece home with them, thank you for making today such a memorable one. 💖
