Beeston Mums Choir We are a group of mums who get together every Monday morning to sing, with the kids in tow :) From those two friends plus two more it has grown and grown.

Beeston Mum's Choir was founded at the beginning of 2011 by two mums who loved to sing but couldn't mange to join conventional choirs due to childcare and the trickiness of evenings with young children. We usually sing two- or three-part pieces from all genres. We welcome all mums who are interested in singing, no auditions and no ability to read music required. We meet at 10 am on a Monday morning at Beeston Youth and Community Centre, West End, NG9 1GL

📢Calling all current and former Mums Choir members!

As a final hurrah, we're getting together on Sunday 19 July for a special members' come-and-sing session. 🎶

âť—This is a private gathering for current and former Mums Choir members and their families, rather than a public concert or open event.

Venue: St John's Parish Church, Beeston (near the tram stop)
Timings

2.00pm – Arrive and catch up
2.15pm – Singing some of our favourite Mums Choir songs
3.15pm – Informal sing-through for family members
3.30–4.00pm – Tea, cake and chat

It will be lovely to see old friends, sing some Mums Choir favourites together and, of course, enjoy some cake! So please keep Sunday 19 July free and join us if you can.

Due to a range of factors - declining numbers of regular members, lack of volunteers to join the committee, uncertainty around our rehearsal venue, and increasing costs - the Mums Choir committee have made the difficult decision to pause choir at the end of this half term, with our last regular Monday meeting being Monday 18th May.

While it isn't feasible at the moment to continue Mums Choir after this half term, we are exploring ways that Mums Choir might return in the future.

We are currently planning a 'come-and-sing' session, where we can catch up with each other, sing some Mums Choir favourites, and eat cake. So please keep Sunday 19th July in your diaries and join us if you can.

Mums Choir really is a choir like no other, and as a committee we know how important it has been to so many of us, not only as an opportunity to sing with others when having little ones can make joining regular choirs tricky, but perhaps most importantly as a safe place of support and encouragement.

We'd like to thank Sarah Taylor for founding Mums Choir, Sarah Trevers for leading us over the last couple of years, as well as our other conductors, and of course all our Mums Choir members past and present, for the music, the cake and biscuits, for the listening ears, the spare arms to hold babies, and the hugs.

Welcome back everyone! We're meeting at usual this morning at Beeston Youth and Community Centre

New members are always welcome! We sing a variety of genres - here are just a few songs we've done lately. You don't need to be able to read music, just come along and enjoy singing in a safe space for you and your little one.
