Remembering Alex Hyde ❤️

In June 2026, former Anjali artist Alex Hyde sadly passed away unexpectedly. Alex had been in Anjali since its inception and toured in our professional productions performed in the UK, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Mexico. He was truly loved by all.

To honour his memory, founder and former Director of Anjali Nicole Thompson has wrote a eulogy.

Join Anjali Artist Holly for her final two Library Inclusive Dance Parties! 🪩

Come along for a fun, family-friendly pop-up disco-style dance session, designed especially for children aged 4–11 and their grown-ups.

Holly and Charlotte will co-lead simple, easy-to-follow dance routines that everyone can join in with, alongside plenty of opportunities for children to get creative, improvise and share their own moves.

No dance experience is needed. Just come ready to move and have fun!

An epic two days at NT Croome and we had it all from laughter, tears, rain, sweat and a lot of fun.

Thank you to everyone who stayed to watch the performance and took part in our tree explorer activities.

✨ PREMIERING TOMORROW ✨

Tomorrow is our first day of 49 Trees performances, sharing our work in progress with audiences at National Trust Croome Court.

Inspired by the story of the Sycamore Gap Tree, 49 Trees is a powerful new outdoor performance exploring loss, hope, connection and renewal.

Through dance, striking visual imagery and interactive activities, we invite audiences of all ages to reflect on our relationship with the natural world and how new growth can emerge from change.

Meet the Performers!

49 Trees is created with and performed by Lauren Payne and Frank Hickman.

Lauren joined Anjali in 2014. She has performed nationally and internationally in professional productions at venues including Birmingham Hippodrome, The Curve, Pavilion Dance South West, The Place and Southbank Centre, as well as at festivals and events in Spain, Germany and Mexico. As well as dancing with Anjali she is a freelance performer and teacher with Parable Dance and Magpie Dance.

Frank is a Birmingham-based freelance dance artist. He has performed with Restoke, Highly Sprung, Rosie Kay, Motionhouse, Linden Dance and Autin Dance Theatre. Frank has worked across dance, children’s theatre, large-scale puppetry and physical theatre.
