Hello everyone,

My name is Molly and I am your musical director this year for Fame. Although I met some of your earlier & shall meet more of you tomorrow- I thought I would post to breakdown the information regarding the musical and the audition process!

Audition process:

The auditions will take place on Wednesday (7th October) and Sunday (11th October) from 10am-6pm

Due to current restrictions, if you want to audition- you will have to book a slot

Please message me on Facebook or drop me an email if you would like to book a slot and specify the preferred date for your audition!

During your audition, you will be requested to sing, dance and act!

The choreography will be taught to you on the day and is quite simplistic-so please don’t worry!! & please wear comfy clothes

For the acting portion of the audition, it will just be a short scene from the show

If you wish to audition for the following characters and to better your chances of securing the part- please sing the song listed (The first verse and chorus will do)

Carmen: There she goes/ In L.A
Nick: I want to make magic
Serena: Let’s play a love scene/ Think of Meryl Streep
Joe: Can’t keep it down
Tyrone/ Jack: Dancin’ on the sidewalk
Schlomo: Bring on tomorrow
Mabel: Mabel’s Prayer
Lambchops/ Iris: Bring on tomorrow
Ms Sherman: These are my children/ Teacher’s argument
Ms Bell: Teacher’s argument
Ensemble/ Unsure of what part: Bring on tomorrow

- don’t feel the need to perform the riff at the end of first verse of Bring on tomorrow if you feel uncomfortable about doing so!

Callbacks will announced shortly after auditions!

Welcome Freshers & Returners to the Drama Society!

We have a Welcome Meet during freshers week so you can get to know the committee and what we do in the society! To access the welcome meet you need to book your ticket!

We also have some fantastic Costume and Backstage workshops coming up!

We’re all really excited to see everyone’s face whether that’s in person or online! The show must go on!

Wednesday 16th October 2pm to 5pm: Newton Lecture theatre 9 OR Friday 18th October 2pm to 4pm: Arkwright 201

Hey Everyone!

Just a reminder that today we have our Welcome Meeting, where we'll be introducing you to our lovely committee!

As well as this, we will talk about further social opportunities you can take part in!

We will also be telling you about the audition process for our play, musical and spring show!

The meeting is in Newton Lecture Theatre 5 at 2pm

If you dont know where to go, meet us on the Newton Steps just before 2 and we'll come and direct you! (It's a big building so don't worry if you get lost)

Oh and also, if you're interested, please pay membership of 10 pounds!! Without this you cannot come to any social events or audition! (You'll probably hear that said a few times today!)
