⁠Three girls are turning sixteen. Living in a world that’s coming to an end. They don’t know it yet. They are looking forward, with hope, towards a future of new clothes off the market, full wage packet on a Friday and going out.⁠
⁠
Set in Thatcher’s Britain, the miners’ strike begins, families pick a side but will friendship survive? This is 1984 and yet the story speaks to modern Britain. It is a raw, unflinching coming of age story, of working-class teenage girls and women, finding their voices, fighting back and rewriting the rules.⁠

Co-written by Lisa McKenzie and Jayne Williams and directed by Jayne Williams,⁠
⁠Presented as a working class, storytelling performance by three actors, featuring a post performance discussion with Dr. Lisa McKenzie.⁠

✨️Abigail Pidgeon as Lisa ⁠
⁠
Abigail Pidgeon is an actor and writer from Nottingham; she graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in September 2018 with an MA in Acting. Abigail is part of the New Associate Alumni taking part in the 2022/23 programme.⁠

⁠
Grace Carter is a writer, dramaturg and actor from Nottingham. She was part of Nottingham Playhouse's Writers Group (2024) and was a New Associate at New Perspectives Theatre from 2024/25. ⁠

✨️Linh Huynh as Michelle⁠
⁠
Linh Huynh is an actor and writer from Nottingham whose work explores identity, relationships, cultural hybridity. Her first play was selected for New Earth Theatre’s Writing Academy. ⁠
Linh is a current New Associate (2026/27 cohort). ⁠
