🚂🎶 What a lovely day yesterday!

I spent the day aboard a steam train at the beautiful Ecclesbourne Valley Railway in Derbyshire, as part of one of Vallances Coaches’ vintage trips.

The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway Vallances Coaches

Ecclesbourne Valley Railway is a heritage railway running from Wirksworth through the Ecclesbourne Valley, and it really is the perfect setting for a day of vintage entertainment. There’s something rather special about travelling through the Derbyshire countryside on a steam train, especially when you’re singing songs from the 1940s along the way! 🚂🎤

There were also three couples celebrating wedding anniversaries, which made it extra lovely to be part of their special day. 🥂💍

And then, as if the steam train and 1940s music weren’t enough, we were treated to a performance from the Black Pig Border Morris Dancers on the platform. They’re an East Midlands Border Morris group, and they certainly know how to put on a show! 💃🕺

A big thank you to the team at Vallances Coaches, Ecclesbourne Valley Railway and the Black Pig Border Morris for a brilliant day.

Steam trains, 1940s songs, vintage travel and Morris dancing… now that’s a pretty good combination! ❤️🚂🎶

Really pleased to announce that I'll be returning to Findern Christmas Lights Switch-On on Friday 27th November!

I'll be performing two sets of vintage Christmas songs, bringing along plenty of festive favourites from days gone by.

This is one of my first Christmas gigs of the season, and I'm really excited to be back! There's something rather special about getting the Christmas festivities underway with a few classic Christmas songs.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in Findern and helping to kick off the festive season!

Yesterday was a lovely double-gig day! 🎤🎶

My first stop was Together Arnold, celebrating their 9th anniversary. I've been performing there for pretty much all of those nine years myself, so it was lovely to be back! I treated everyone to an hour of 50s and 60s favourites, with plenty of familiar tunes. 🎶

Then it was off to my second gig of the day, celebrating Mensa's 80th anniversary! 🥳

For anyone who doesn't know, Mensa is the international society for people who score in the top 2% of the population in an approved intelligence test. So, quite a clever bunch!

They made me feel incredibly welcome, and we had some really interesting and very funny conversations. One of the highlights was discovering a shared love of pareidolia – seeing faces in everyday objects. The w**e box, for example, looked remarkably like Shaun the Sheep! 😂

Even better, one of the gentlemen had a supply of googly eyes with him. Now, anyone who knows me and my sister will know we're rather partial to a pair of googly eyes ourselves, so I felt right at home!

It's just a shame I'm not quite intelligent enough to join them! 🤣

Two very different gigs, two lovely audiences and a brilliant day doing what I love. ❤️

What a marvellous weekend! 🥰🎶

Saturday took me to Birmingham, where I spent the evening celebrating the 25th wedding anniversary of one of my oldest friends. ❤️🥂 Such a lovely occasion and a brilliant excuse to catch up and celebrate together!

Then on Sunday, it was off to Welshpool for their fantastic 1940s Weekend! 🇬🇧🎤 I had a wonderful time sharing the stage with some fabulous performers, including Andrew and Sandra of the Blitz Dancers, Jeep Johnson, Colin Bordiec and the Harmony Belles. 🎶💃

One of the absolute highlights of the weekend was visiting The Longest Yarn exhibition. 🧶😍 If you haven't seen it, you really should! It's an incredible knitted and crocheted exhibition depicting scenes from Britain during the Second World War. The sheer amount of work, detail and creativity that has gone into it is just phenomenal. I could have spent hours looking at it all

A weekend of friendship, fabulous entertainment, music and a little bit of history. Just how I like it! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who made the weekend so enjoyable. Already looking forward to the next one! 🎶

Friday was a rather lovely mix of steam trains, jazz, swing and a birthday celebration! 🎶🚂🥂

I started the day at the Great Central Railway in Loughborough, where I was booked to perform on the platform for a Women in Construction networking event. The event included a trip on a steam train, and I sang a selection of jazz and swing classics to fit the setting perfectly. 🎤🎶🚂

There’s something rather special about performing at a railway station with a steam train rolling in behind you! The Great Central Railway is the UK's only double-track main line heritage railway, so it really is a fantastic place for events like this. 🚂

Then it was off to Harley's Bar in Staveley for Margaret's birthday celebrations. 🎂🥳 I was delighted to be part of the evening, particularly as the raffle was raising money for the Walton Knitters in Chesterfield. 🧶💜

Walton Knitters is a group of volunteers who knit items for premature and poorly babies, including tiny hats, blankets and other knitted essentials which are donated to neonatal units and families who need them.

That one is particularly close to home for me. My twins were born at just 28 weeks in 2007 and spent a long time in neonatal care, so I know personally just how important those tiny knitted items can be when you have a premature baby. 👶👶🧶💕

Two very different events, but both with lovely people and music at the centre of them. 🎤❤️

If you're looking for a vintage performer for a 1920s–1970s event, vintage railway event, afternoon tea, wartime occasion, birthday, anniversary or private celebration, I'd love to hear from you.

I’m really pleased to say that I’ve been invited back to perform at the Remembrance Lunch for Veterans at Balderton Village Centre on Friday 13th November, in conjunction with Newark & Sherwood District Council. 🇬🇧🎤

This will be my final Remembrance performance of 2026, and it’s going to be quite a way to finish what is shaping up to be a very busy few weeks of performances.

Remembrance is a really important part of my year as a Vintage Performer. My wartime repertoire has always been a big part of what I do, and I’m very lucky to be able to perform these songs at events where people come together to remember and pay their respects to those who served, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. 🌺🇬🇧

And I’m certainly going to be putting some miles on the car! 🚗😂

This year’s Remembrance performances will take me from Sheffield to Davenham in Cheshire, as well as several performances around Nottinghamshire and elsewhere across the Midlands.

From community events and Remembrance services to veterans’ lunches, each one will be a little different, but they all have the same purpose — to remember, reflect and never forget. 🇬🇧🌺

Lest we forget. ❤️

Well, I’ve got a rather busy weekend coming up… and I’m VERY excited about it! 🎶🇬🇧👗💃

Friday daytime I’ll be at the Great Central Railway in Loughborough, singing on the platform for a Women in Construction event. 🚂🎤 Great Central Railway

In the evening I am heading over the Harley's Bar in Chesterfield for a very special birthday celebration.

Then on Saturday, I’m heading over to Birmingham for an anniversary celebration — but this time I’m going as a guest rather than the entertainment! 😂🥂🎉 It’ll be lovely to put the microphone down for a few hours and just enjoy myself.

And then Sunday… well, this is the one I’m REALLY looking forward to…

I’m heading to Welshpool for the Welshpool 1940s Weekend! 🇬🇧❤️🎶

I’ll be working alongside some brilliant performers including The Harmony Belles, Jeep Johnson, Colin Bourdiec and the Blitz Dancers – Andrew & Sandra. There’ll be music, dancing, vintage vehicles, military displays, re-enactors and plenty going on around the town. 🎺💃🕺🚙✈️

Welshpool is particularly exciting this year because The Longest Yarn 2: Britain at War is also on display at the Town Hall throughout September. 🧶🇬🇧

If you haven’t heard of The Longest Yarn, it’s a huge knitted and crocheted exhibition telling the story of Britain during WWII through incredibly detailed wartime scenes. The exhibition features more than 80 scenes, created by hundreds of volunteers, and the first Longest Yarn exhibition attracted around 250,000 visitors** as it toured the UK. It’s quite an extraordinary thing to see! 🧶❤️🇬🇧

So… Friday trains 🚂
Saturday celebrations 🥂
Sunday 1940s Welshpool 🇬🇧🎶

I think I’d better save my voice for this one! 😂🎤

If you’re heading to Welshpool this weekend, come and say hello — I’ll be very easy to spot! 👋🏻

Well… I’ve had a rather busy few days! 😂

Friday I was back at the AMAZING The Goodwood Revival for the FOURTH time, this time accompanied by my lovely friend Sally. I was working alongside the brilliant Memphis Bellesand Lauren/Evie Ivory 🖤🏳️‍🌈Ashlea Lauren, surrounded by vintage cars, fabulous outfits, music and a lot of hairspray!😂🎶💃

Then Saturday morning I swapped the 1940s glamour for something slightly more… prehistoric. 🦖🤣

I was a Dino Ranger with Chompers for Elliot’s 5th birthday, before heading straight off to Ashfield RUFC for Beryl’s 90th birthday, where we had a fantastic 1940s-themed afternoon. 🇬🇧🎶

Sunday was a complete change again as I was running a UV Glow Rave for Bleu. 🪩💜✨

And today I’ve gone back to my musical roots, singing 50s and 60s favourites for Karen’s 80th birthday. 🎤🎶

So, in four days I’ve been…

👗 Vintage performer at Goodwood
🦖 Dino Ranger
🇬🇧 1940s performer
🪩 UV Glow Rave DJ
🎤 50s & 60s performer

I’m beginning to think I need to carry a suitcase around with me permanently. 😂

I absolutely love the fact that my job can take me from Goodwood Revival one day to chasing dinosaurs the next, then onto a 1940s afternoon, a UV rave and an 80th birthday. There really isn’t much opportunity to get bored! ❤️

Now I’m off to work out which costume I’m supposed to be washing first… 😂
