Bracers and shinguards, carved in armour-weight veg tan. The intention with this set was to combine baroque flourishes with wave shapes. The contrast suede lining is definitely something I'll keep doing, both for comfort and a flash of colour to tie an outfit together.

By the time I've got around to posting these, they've already seen a few battles!

I learned a lot of new things for this mermaid bag, and it's probably my best tooling yet! 🧜‍♀️

Although inspired by kidney pouches, I chose to use a straight edge on the bottom shape to better hold notebooks.

The suede blue soft edges give it flexibility and room to hold a fair few bits, while packing down flat if necessary. The main body is a sturdy 3mm veg tan to protect the contents on adventures. This is the first project combining leather types in such a way, and I love how it came together along with the contrast colour stitch.

The bag is for a nautical character and I always want my creations to look lived in rather than new, so I created a mottled sea salt stained texture in the leather itself.

The closure flap is a little larger than necessary for the bag itself, but I wanted enough space to enjoy tooling the mermaid themself.
