Here is me and Lewis the ferry man over New Year what an epic bunch of guys the ferry crew are :) Take the ferry from Salcombe or drive around to East Portlemouth and visit The Village Farm Cafe at East Portlemouth

They have very very kindly donated a sauna session for 4 people with hot drinks after at Their Old Stable Cafe into the Salcombe Sarah Solftley Christmas Raffle 2025 DRAW in aid of St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth also if you haven’t been there already you must how their kind donation came about was after a Gara Rock walk ending in a visit there over the New Year where I had an outstanding Caffè mocha made by John and very very delicious sausage roll and got chatting to John who was kind enough to give me a card and donate a prize my only other experience with the Village Farm was last year when I helped a friend out and he took me for a full english on him 🙂 to the The Village Farm cafe and I said to myself how have I not been here before folks you need to check both their establishments out 🙂

HOSPICE EASTER FUNDRAISER

As I’m sure you all know I lost by beautiful wife to cancer in September last year and my world has been torn apart

One of the things that gave me comfort when she finally left us was how it happened in a wonderful hospice with wonderful staff and care and how we could always be there night and day and were looked after so very well with such love and care

Now my dad is in a hospice Hayward House and I have met many wonderful staff there over the last months and many patients some who have sadly now departed this world to a peaceful place of rest

Hospice’s are crucial and I hope you will all participate in this small fundraiser to raise some money for the hospice my dad is in HAYWARD HOUSE NOTTINGHAM

So please all participate I will put all your names in a hat and draw the lucky winner tomorrow night and send the egg special delivery to any where in the uk

GALAXY GAME

Bill Pitts and Hugh Tuck were the duo responsible for building the 1st prototype which cost 20,000$ which today would probably be over $145,000 to build !!!

Consisting of a Digital Equipment Corporation PDP-11 minicomputer attached by a cable to a wooden console with a monitor, controls, & seats.

It cost the player 10 cents a game or 25 cents for three, and had people queuing out the door to play

One of the 1st coin-operated video games the prototype was installed in November 1971 at the Tresidder student union building at Stanford University, only a few months after a similar display of a prototype of Computer Space, making it the second known video game to charge money to play
