Earlier this year we were proud to launch our very first dual-country exhibition in partnership with the National Media Museum in Beijing.

From concept to collaboration, we brought the idea to life and built the partnership that made it possible. It has been an incredible opportunity to showcase stories across borders and explore the threads of heritage that connect us all.

We look forward to working with the Museum again on future exhibitions and continuing to ask the important questions.

šŸ’ We’d love to hear your thoughts: What do you think makes us, us?

Heritage tells us where we’ve come from. Technology shapes where we’re going. Together, they create something powerful - the ability to share stories, preserve traditions, and connect cultures in ways that would have been unimaginable a generation ago.

From digitising fragile manuscripts so they can be viewed around the world, to using virtual reality to step inside historic sites, technology is helping us protect the past while making it accessible for the future.

At Anglo-Sino Heritage, we believe the future of heritage is not about replacing tradition but amplifying it. The tools have changed, but the stories remain timeless.

How do you see technology shaping the way we experience heritage?

Some heritage items are grand and ornate, others simple and practical but each carries its own story.
A teacup passed down through generations, a photograph tucked in a book, a well-worn musical instrument… These pieces can hold memories, traditions, and a glimpse into how people lived, worked, and celebrated.
At Anglo-Sino Heritage, we know that heritage isn’t only found in museums. It lives in the objects we treasure, the ones that connect us to our roots and help us understand the everyday lives of those before us.
We’d love to know, what’s one item that means something to you and what does it tell about your story?

At Anglo-Sino Heritage, we’re always inspired by the way travel opens the door to new perspectives. A different landscape, a new tradition, a language you don’t speak but somehow understand through shared smiles or shared food.

From English market towns to ancient Chinese temples, heritage is not just about the places we come from, it’s shaped by the places we go, the people we meet and the moments we carry home.

So wherever this Summer takes you, whether it’s across continents or just down the road - take notice. Snap the architecture, learn a local phrase, try something unfamiliar.

Because heritage isn’t fixed. It’s always evolving and you’re part of it!

ā€œAfter the rain, the ground becomes firmer.ā€

This Chinese proverb says it all!

Last week’s event at the Canalside Heritage Centre may have been cancelled due to the weather, but the foundations we’re building, of creativity, connection and community, are not dampened.

Sometimes plans change, skies turn, and we have to wait a little longer.

However, you can still visit the 'Together, What Makes Us,Us' exhibition every weekend between now and the end of August.

Join us this Saturday at the Canalside Heritage Centre, Beeston! šŸ‡ØšŸ‡³šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§

The ASH team will be at the '1842 Cottage' Open Day with something truly special to share. We’re proud to be showcasing our new exhibition ā€˜Together: What Makes Us, Us’ – a celebration of shared stories, culture and connection.

As well as exploring the exhibition, families can get hands-on with a range of traditional Chinese activities, including a chance to try your hand (or rather, your feet!) at Jianzi, a fast-paced Chinese sport a bit like badminton... but without a racket!

ā˜€ļø If the sun’s shining, we’ll be outside playing. Fancy a game?

There’s something powerful about being in the right place, with the right people.

This was the view from our ā€˜office for the day’ at the beautiful Canalside Heritage Centre in Beeston, where the Together: What Makes Us, Us exhibition was brought to life.

How beautiful is this scene - it felt like being on holiday, surrounded by nature, history and community, our team and students felt energised, connected and inspired.

Creativity flowed and the collaboration came naturally.

At Anglo-Sino Heritage, we believe heritage isn’t something distant, it’s something we live and create together (especially in places like this!)

šŸ“ Together, What Makes Us, Us is live now - Saturdays & Sundays 10am - 4pm at the Canalside Heritage Centre, Beeston.

We made it happen - Together!

From spray glue (of which there was lots!) to storytelling, every part of the 'Together – What Makes Us, Us' exhibition has been built by many hands, across cultures and generations.

Here you can see us working away - the UK team and Chinese students working side by side to prepare and piece together the exhibition panels that share stories of daily life, connection and identity in Beeston and Beijing.

Yes the end result is an exhibition full of stories of lives and expereinces across cultures but the process itself was rooted in shared creativity, conversation and cultural fusion.

Watch out for more information on how you can view 'Together - What Makes Us, Us'.

A walk through familiar streets...

There’s something quietly beautiful about walking through a place that’s become your own, even if it once felt unfamiliar.

This image captures that spark: a joyful moment on a cobbled street, wrapped in the season’s chill, surrounded by heritage architecture and a sense of belonging.

At Anglo-Sino Heritage, we celebrate these connections. Between people and places. Between tradition and modern life. Between cultures that learn from each other, side by side.

Because ā€œhomeā€ isn’t always where you started. Sometimes, it’s where you smiled today.
