It's your last chance to submit ideas for theatre-based work at any stage of development - whether that’s a pitch, proposal, treatment, script, or another creative concept.

The closing date for submissions is midday on 18 June, and all artists will be contacted with outcomes in July.

Skip through the forest in the summer breeze and join Marian and her friends on an exciting adventure in the forest, guided by the wisdom of the Magical Major Oak. Featuring inspiring puppetry to spark the imagination and a host of woodland animals to meet, Summer In Bloom is an enchanting interactive show that’s perfect for children aged 2+ and their grown-ups.

🎨Brown Paper Puppet Workshop - Sun 28 Jun, 2pm
This hands-on session invites families of all ages to transform simple materials into expressive, moving characters. Once your puppet character is complete, master the puppetry techniques needed to make them breathe, move, and tell a story. Perfect for families, friends, and creators of all ages!

🧦Sock Puppet Workshop - Sun 28 Jun, 10am
Dive into a box of colourful fluff, shiny buttons, and crazy yarn to create your very own puppet friend. Once your character is ready, we’ll show you the magic tricks of puppetry. Learn how to make your puppet talk, look around, and tell funny jokes. It’s time to get crafty and play!

We look forward to welcoming Nottingham Q***r Arts Collective back to Nottingham Playhouse 🌈

Tomorrow (Wed 17 Jun) from 7.00 - 9.00pm, with special guest CJ De Barra giving a talk on the Nottingham Q***r History Archive.

CJ De Barra is a q***r author (Neuroq***r, 2023) and journalist. CJ has written for many different publications and is currently the History Editor for Leftlion Magazine in Nottingham. 📝
In 2022, CJ founded the community-led, unfunded project - Notts Q***r History Archive (NQHA), which preserves and documents LGBT+ history from Nottingham, covering 1770 to 2026. 📚

We can’t wait to welcome them to Nottingham Playhouse. 🎭✨

🖋️ Six Degrees from Home

Writer and performer Saili Katebe blends movement and spoken word to explore the making and breaking of borders through our bodies. Having performed across the UK, with work featured on BBC Arts and BBC Radio Bristol, Saili brings a powerful poetic voice to the stage.

💫 The Skeleton is White

Through Indian classical dance and physical theatre, Divija Melally explores the body’s physical transformation in response to ethnicity and environment, inviting audiences to reconnect and listen to their bodies.

Nottingham Playhouse (a Theatre of Sanctuary) is proud to take part in Refugee Week 2026 👥🤝

Established in 1998 and now a global movement, Refugee Week (Refugee Week 🧡) takes place each year around World Refugee Day (20th June) 🌍

This year we’re marking it with activities, a live performance of ‘3 Migrant Women’ and our ‘Community of Courage’ event in partnership with Refugee Roots (Refugee Roots) who have been supporting asylum seekers and refugees to build relationships and navigate life in the UK, since 2001 🌱

Theatre is for everyone.
