HELLO! 👋⁠

A little personal post from me.⁠
⁠
For anyone new here, I’m Nathan — a wedding photographer who loves real, candid moments.⁠
⁠
This photo was my latest attempt at the impossible family selfie. Me and my wife have four children, including twins, so getting everyone looking vaguely in the same direction would be a big achievement. 😂⁠
⁠
That’s probably why I’m drawn to weddings full of genuine joy, chaos, laughter, and proper real moments.⁠
⁠
I’m not really the photographer for couples who want arty shoe photos or endless flat lays. I’m much more interested in the people, the laughter, the hugs, the kids doing weird things, and all the moments you didn’t even know were happening.⁠

I’m thrilled to have won a Story Award with this Yaz and Jac's wedding from April last year 🏆⁠
⁠
Story Awards are seriously hard to win. You enter 15–20 images from a single wedding, all working together to tell the story of the day.⁠
⁠
Thousands of stories are submitted, and only a tiny handful are awarded, so I’m happy this one made the cut 🙌⁠
⁠
This wedding holds a special place in my memory because it took place in Harlow, Essex, where my parents are from. In fact, the second photo in the story has The Green Man pub in the background, which is where my uncle once worked 🍺⁠

John & Hilary’s wedding at The Old Vicarage in Ecklesley Village, Nottinghamshire, was an absolute joy ❤️⁠
⁠
A small wedding, around 40 of their closest family and friends, an outdoor ceremony, a couple of very important dogs, grandchildren running about, loads of good food, a tipi reception, a duck race, and even a little splash of rain - umbrellas at the ready ☔️⁠
⁠
But, the weather didn’t matter one bit.⁠
⁠
It was one of those lovely, relaxed weddings where everyone was just there to celebrate, have a laugh, eat well, and enjoy being together.⁠
⁠
These are just a few of my personal highlights from the day, with plenty more to come. I’m currently working through the rest of the gallery and can’t wait to share more soon 📸⁠

Really happy that this photo from won an award in the latest round of 🏆⁠
⁠
It’s a tender little moment between a brother and sister just before heading into the ceremony at Thorpe Garden in Staffordshire ⁠
⁠
But what I really like about it is that it feels like a proper storytelling frame. ⁠
⁠
The wedding sign, the doorway, the way the children are framed within the scene - it quietly says, “this is where we are, this is what’s happening, and this tiny moment mattered.”⁠
⁠
This is exactly the kind of thing I’m always looking for on a wedding day.⁠
⁠
Not the staged stuff.⁠
⁠
Not the “everyone look at the camera” stuff.⁠
⁠
But the quiet moments happening just outside the obvious action. The moments other people might not notice at the time, but that couples spot in their gallery afterwards and go, “Oh wow, I didn’t even know that happened.”⁠
⁠
That’s what a hands-off approach is all about.⁠
⁠

3 years! 🎉⁠ Happy anniversary, you lovely people.⁠

Jonny and Jess were married at Southwell Minster in Nottinghamshire before heading off for a wonderfully chilled-out marquee reception surrounded by all their favourite people.⁠
⁠
The best wedding photos happen when people feel free to be themselves, and Jonny and Jess created exactly that kind of atmosphere.⁠

Because wedding stories aren’t just made up of the big obvious moments. They’re also made up of the funny little in-between bits, the questionable eating techniques, and guests having a brilliant time when they think no one’s watching 😂⁠
