I was assigned Green (had to be 80% 2 shades of green they provided along with violet and black). I knew I wanted to do something in honour of Heather and fate provided.

Taking part in the Mural Mosaic's Global Roots Project UK connects.
I got assigned Green (green, black and violet were main colours too use) so it seemed like fate that I had to do this painting of some Heather in honour of my sister, just in time for her birthday.

Designer sent me a mock-up of the book cover - just a first draft, some of the patterns are from the doodles folder that I thought I deleted. What do you think? Which would you buy?

2 years ago today, I got a phone call, just 2 words, “it’s over”. Then the call cut out. It was 2 days since they told us she only had 2 weeks left at most. The night before I’d been looking at hotel prices so I could go back and stay until the end but it came far too quick. We’ll be visiting the grave as a family today, then going to her favourite restaurant for lunch.

Finished the book. Just waiting on my author copy to arrive so I can check everything is perfect.
I used a lot of yellow in this design as my nephew tells me that it’s the colour of happiness

Photo Books. The last thing we talked about before she passed was photo books. She wanted one book for every year of her son’s life, and one of her and him. She sent me pictures and captions and I went home to make the books and get them printed. At that point we had been told, she could no longer have nutrition and she would have up to two weeks. I went home on Saturday to make the books and find somewhere that does rush printing so I could take them with me on Wednesday and stay with her until the end. She passed on the Monday morning. She only managed to send me the photos for the first three books and she never got to see them. I just hope they were what she wanted.

This one is “Tickling”. I am insanely ticklish, like, can’t even get a nice massage because I squirm and giggle. People who aren’t ticklish have no idea what absolute torture being tickled is. Heather was not ticklish, so of course she would tickle me and I couldn’t get my own back with “harmless tickling” because it didn’t have the same effect on her. In one of her school photos, she has a cut under her eye because the only way I could get her to stop was to punch, kick and scratch. Pretty sure I got in trouble for that.
