Chronic Insanity is a theatre company led by Nat Henderson and Joe Strickland, two Nottingham based theatre makers interested in challenging every element of theatre making, from the inception of the idea to after the final performance.

Puncture The Screen is a data driven digital art and performance festival run by Chronic Insanity. It consists of digital art and performance, workshops, and educational opportunities for creatives and audiences alike.

The festival will run November 25th-27th with a number of hybrid and online events, as well as some events in person in Nottingham.

All work will be available on demand and tickets are Pay What You Decide!

We want this festival to show the full innovative strength of digital art and performance.

We want to show off its accessibility, its sustainability, its inclusivity, and its affordability for both creatives and audiences alike.

Introducing the writers of 'The Witch Trials'.... and

Katie Mitchell's surreal, whimsical, gothic and q***r comedy has earned her a cult following across the East Midlands and beyond. She has been selected for Best in Class at the Edinburgh Fringe, shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Award, headlined Chippenham Comedy Festival, and played to sell out crowds in back-to-back Edinburgh runs. Katie is a regular writer and prop-maker for Nottingham's boldest alternative comedy night. Katie also played Demeter in the second run of Apple of Discord.

Lauren Brady is a writer working mostly in q***r stories, drama and comedy. She was a key member of the writing team, a stage manager and the 'quest-wrangler' for 'Apple of Discord', the hit immersive Greek Mythology show which played at The People's Hall earlier this year. Lauren has previously written for The Nottingham New Theatre, and is an upcoming exhibitor at data-driven arts festival Puncture The Screen. She has also written several original plays such as 'Seconds To Midnight', 'CLOSET', '2020' and more.

Hidden behind Nottingham's Samhain Pagan Market is a story as old as time, a story about what goes on in the shadows and on the fringes of society, a story of witches...

The Headless Horseman is on the hunt, the witches are scattering, and other supernatural beings are coming out to play in the chaos. Watch the action unfold over the course of the market, or get stuck in and try to rewrite history. This is an immersive production told throughout the day where you can be a part of the action and influence the outcome of the story. Will you sabotage the Horseman's plans, help the witches evade capture, or fulfill the other quests woven into the market to try and influence the trial in other ways? The choice is up to you!
