Three spalted beech yarn bowls, straight off the lathe and ready for the 29th and 30th June.

I had tremendous fun testing them all, and they performed marvellously!

Elflock Woolworks at Waney Grain will be at the totally inspiring and seriously brilliant Bonsall Arts Trail on 29 and 30 June.

My wearable art scarves will be available in a glorious array of colours, yarnweights, lengths and prices.

I work with luxurious yarns sourced from talented hand spinners and dyers throughout the UK. These include Merino, BFL, Silk, Cashmere and Wensleydale.

I'll be with Nick from Waney Grain, and there will be a new collection of yarn bowls, turned from native English hardwoods, on his display.

My gilding work () will also be available.

Do come and see us if you're visiting the Trail, and let's hope for a warm sunny weekend!!!!

Utter bliss!

Nick was invited to play golf at The Belfry and I offered to drive him. 'That's very kind of you', he said... 'but what on earth will you do with yourself for four hours while I'm on the course?'

He's such a sweetheart!

I found a lovely spot in the beautifully airy Brabazone Bar and made myself a knitting nest! The decor was a delight 😊

Four hours simply floated away, interrupted only by the need for tea and the inevitable consequences!!!

Happy knitting ###xx

I've been meaning to ask Nick to take a few snaps of me with one of my current projects, and this afternoon we finally got our act together!

I'm making myself a make-it-up-as-you-go-along kind of rectangular poncho/shawl jobbie using super chunky yarns, and I really REALLY love the way it's coming along. I'm planning to add buttons somewhere on one of the long sides, but that may change 🤣🤣🤣

It was gorgeous in the garden this afternoon and I was tempted to risk actually sitting and knitting for a while, but after 20 minutes posing for pictures without a jumper I was jolly glad to come into the house!

Happy Weekend everyone ###xx

Here's looking at you ....

Seriously Peony, I want to knit, I need a p*e, I should get dressed and I really need a coffee... but not necessarily in that order!

But her gaze transfixed me, and the more she purrs and snuggles the harder it gets to stand up!

Okay, here goes ......

Piffle approves!

There's nothing quite so affirming as seeing one of your cats tiptoe onto your new, just-off-the-needles rugs and sit on it!

In fact Piffle and her daughter Peony have many of my prototypes in their favourite sunbathing places, and I 'm seriously thinking of a new line ...... but not with artyarns or precious hand-spuns! They probably wouldn't appreciate the textural nuances 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Happy Hump Day ###x

Basket stitch workout!

I'm being thrifty, imaginative and just a wee bit brave. Well, it takes a lot of courage to face up to The Yarn Stash...🤣🤣🤣

Yesterday, after a good strong coffee, a bowl of porridge and bit of limbering up (with a lazy Etsy browse of my favourite yarn spinners and dyers!!!) I took a long hard look at my precious yarn stash and decided to use up some super chunky yarn to create a hearth rug.

Double strands of super chunky on 20mm circulars in basket stitch is using up lots of surplus yarn, and judging by the curiosity of the cats, it should be a snuggly, functional and colourful addition to the hearth.

🌞Happy Sunday🌞

The rain has stopped, and there's a bright golden ball in the sky!

I may even get into the garden and test drive my new secateurs.
