Question…
‘How many sessions will I need?’ - is probably one of the most frequently asked questions we get (and rightly so!). We will always try and give a guide as to how many sessions you might need, but there really are so many factors that play a part in your tattoo removal journey.
- placement: the general rule of thumb is ‘the closer to your heart, the better the results’. The logic behind this is that you have better circulation in the ‘trunk’ of your body and your lymphatic system is more efficient. This does mean that tattoos on hands and feet tend to fade more slowly than other areas of the body.
Overall health: this is also linked to your lymphatic system. If your body is busy fighting other ailments, it isn’t going to prioritise removing the broken down ink particles. A healthy body, means better results.
Ink colour: some colours are trickier to remove than others and certainly do take more sessions! Blacks and reds are generally the easiest and get the best results from Big Bertha.
Tattoo age: this one is very much up for debate when it comes to tattoo removal. Some say the newer the tattoo, the easier it is to remove, whilst others say they opposite. My experience leans towards older tattoos being easier to remove. Generally I find the ink has already started to fade over the years and we just give it a helping hand.
Ink density: now this one is very important. Where a tattoo is very ink dense, it will take more sessions and longer for your body to remove the ink particles. We do still get great results, we just need patients. Where tattoos are lighter and the ink isn’t packed into the skin we see amazing results after 1 or 2 sessions.
Unfortunately, this list isn’t exhaustive and whilst we cannot guarantee a certain number of sessions, we can guarantee we’re more stubborn than any of your tattoos! 💀🤍 tattooremovalspecialist
