Scroll to find out why I love this CD (and community arts) so very, very much. ➡️➡️➡️➡️➡️

The last 6 months has seen a huge change in my working life... A few have asked where my love of community theatre came from and it's from this concert back in 1999.

My dad was one of the thousand voices on this CD. My mum and I travelled down with him and the choir via coach to watch the show at the . That thousand voices choir had been practicing for months in "pods" around the country and met for the first time, as a collective, in London. They - teachers, shop workers, IT technicians, office workers, medical professionals, self employed, driving instructors - sang their hearts out. It was absolutely beautiful. I was hooked. I then waited six years to be able to join the choir known back then as SingLiveUK. Two days after my 16th birthday I was able to join my dad at the first rehearsal for Night of a Thousand Voices 2005 and buy him (yes, really!) a pint at the after-party. I made friends with sopranos 3times my age and loved every single week sat with them.

Fast forward to today and I have a degree in therapeutic arts and experience of working in professional theatre before choosing to move into community theatre. I've run arts projects in schools. I've run arts based charities for those who have survived cancer. I've volunteered for various youth arts groups. I bloody love the Arts and all it can give. Finding this CD at my folks house, today, has brought it all back.

🤗 Sending much love & best wishes to the team at as they move into for their show "Come From Away", next week.

❤️ Yes, there's the (iconic!) musical but there is so, so much going on, too. As the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks loom, Carlton Operatic Society have collated accounts & stories from people in the East Midlands who were affected by the attacks. Some were even on the plane that was redirected to Newfoundland. The project has grown into something so beautiful: The Nottingham based am-dram company have not just collated historic events but they've also been able to put individuals in touch with those who supported and helped them get back on their feet, in many ways, back in 2011.

🎧 You can listen to the full interview, with Celine from Carlton Operatic Society, on the podcast, now.

🎭 This is a unique story, in so many ways, and I very much doubt you'll see a production of it, like this, ever again.

🎟️ Tickets are on-sale via the Theatre Royal's website.
