I’ve just got home and recovered from my gig at The Old Goats Grumble yesterday…. And I have to say that the rain did its best to try and dampen spirits but there was no way that was going to happen!!..

Martin A Baker and his fantastic team of supporters and volunteers hold this event in aid of a charity called Lauren’s Legacy ( more about how to donate on their website … https://share.google/0obl1mu6vwdENyw1v ) and it’s a fantastic weekend of music, entertainment, exhibits and BEER that brings friends old and new together in a field in Derbyshire once a year.

I have the privilege of being asked back year upon year and I’m pleased to say I’m already booked in for 2027… Despite being escorted off the premises by security because they said I was too dodgy lookin’ and couldn’t be trusted !!!

I’m looking forward to returning to the place it all started for me !

My origins as a performer started with The Nottingham Guild Of Magicians and I am humbled to be asked to lecture there next week and pass on my knowledge to fellow magicians.

It’s a sort of homecoming !

Perfect conditions for mischief, malarkey, magic and prestidigitation at Marston Steam and Vintage Show yesterday !!…

It was a fantastic event within loads of exhibits representing transport and machinery from the last 100+ years AND rides, stalls, food, drink, animals and entertainment too!

I couldn’t have felt more welcomed by the staff, visitors and exhibitors so I repaid their kindness by scrambling their brains, dropping their jaws and blowing their minds in equal measure.

Before I could catch my breath as I sat down at home my first Google review came in and made the 100 mile round trip totally worthwhile !!

Thanks to Deborah for accompanying me, buying me a pint and taking some great pictures !!!

It gives me great pleasure to tell you that I have been booked to entertain the beautiful people of Keyworth and surrounding areas at the Keyworth Festivities Day on Saturday Dec 5, 2026 from 12 noon till 4pm.

A big ‘THANK YOU’ to Cllr Shelley Millband for her vote of confidence and Mrs Bond for ‘getting me out of the house’ for a few hours !!😏.

A lovely Google review from Saturdays private 30th birthday party for a woman from Sandiacre. It was an all female audience of about 10/11 set in the back garden of the house and it was wonderful. They didn’t know what to expect from me but they soon relaxed and enjoyed the show and didn’t mind joining me ‘up on stage’ from time to time either.
