"Hips Don't Lie" Belly Dance Festival, Archway Trust Academy Concert and Nottingham Youth Orchestra Spring Concert | Get in and get out crew, LX lead and LX op for MhaslamTech Sound & Event Production .
Very busy week for me freelancing for mhaslamTech! Worked on three very different shows all at the beautiful Albert Hall in Nottingham.
The Hips Don't Lie belly dancing festival saw a set up of moving heads fixtures for front and side light as well as providing architectural/effect lighting along side RGB battens. (Photos 2-5, collage photo bottom right). Lots of opportunities for different colours and energetic effects! 💃
Archway Trust's Academy Concert was a more centre focused set up, still using the moving heads for side light and stage aesthetic purposes for a wider variety of performances from various schools (top right photo of photo collage). 🎭
Finally the Nottingham Youth Orchestra Spring Concert saw the same set up as the academy concert but was more focused on telling a story through colour and light, which meant communicating with them was key to a successful show. 🎻
Great to have such a busy week filled with a variety of shows to op for! Can't wait for the next one at this stunning venue.

A Christmas with Carly Paoli and Friends at Albert Hall Nottingham | Get in and get out crew, LX op for MhaslamTech Sound & Event Production 🎄💡
Had a great time this week working for mhaslamTech as crew and LX op for the fantastic Carly Paoli Christmas concert! We worked across two days, with the first day being the get in where I managed the lighting equipment install, setting up 16 moving fixtures (running power, data, addressing fixtures and setting up tripod rigging points) which were used for both front light and aesthetic purposes.
The next day was show day, I spent the morning preparing the show file to busk from (creating groups, colour, position and shape pallets) and liased with Carly's team on lighting requirements for the show.
Once the show was complete, I led the lighting get out and assisted in getting equipment loaded out of the venue.
Very busy couple of days but such a lovely show to light! Thanks again to Matt of mhaslamTech for having me back and to Dan, Kieran and James for being great company ✨️

Framework Charity Gala at Nottingham Belfry Hotel & Spa | Get in and get out crew, lighting op on Avolites Titan for MhaslamTech Sound & Event Production 💡✨️
Had a fantastic day working on this one! Started on unloading the van into the venue then getting the stage deck set up. I moved on to getting the lighting equipment up and working, including uplighters around the room and LED battens behind the backdrop. Addressed all the fixtures and patched in some new ones and we were ready to go! The event was complemented by some live music from The Money, which allowed me to have some fun with the lighting operation 😊 Finally it was time for the out, getting all the equipment loaded out which we managed in record time!
Great to work with Matt as always and nice to work with James for the first time too! ⚡️

Congregation of Yahweh "You Matter" Gospel Music Concert | Lighting Op/ Install Crew for MhaslamTech Sound & Event Production 💡
Had a great time working with Matt of mhaslamTech again this weekend! Installed all the lighting equipment hired, such as LED moving heads and LED Battens, before returning a couple of days later to operate the Avolites Titan for their concert. Really great afternoon/evening and had a lot of fun experimenting with new fixtures! 🤩

The Spongebob Musical | Lighting Designer, co-programmer and desk op- Lincoln Arts Centre, June 2025.
Where do I even begin!? When we were told in October 2024 that our final degree show would be The Spongebob Musical, saying I was shocked would be an understatement! Though I knew the show was going to be incredibly hard work, I wanted to make this show my official lighting design debut.
I worked on this show for 4 months, day and night. Blood sweat and (a lot of) tears were put into this show and finally, it was actually real!
I've learnt a lot in this process that I will take with me throughout the rest of my career, far too much to talk about here. But what is important is that eventually, I felt immense pride and love for the work I had produced.
I have a few people I would like to thank: Alex Kent for your mentorship and incredible programming skills, Kieran Nisbet for assisting in some of the pre-vis programming, Dylan Jackson for being the desk op on the final show, Olivia Davey Alfie Bulbeck-Young for your magical followspotting skills, Alex Leader for calling all 343 LX cues(!), Darren Page for his support throughout the process and to all the lovely lot from UOL MT ! It goes without saying but to all my TTSM colleagues, this show wouldn't have been what it was without you all, it has been an absolute pleasure to work with you all, I can't wait to see where we all end up next! Thank you Lincoln, thank you 🎓

The Snow Queen | Written and Directed by Andrew Westerside- LX Programmer, Lincoln Arts Centre, December 2024.
The Snow Queen has definitely been one of those shows that will stay with me forever.
This production has challenged me and pushed me to new heights I didn't even know I was capable of reaching. The experience I have gained here has been invaluable and reminded me of what I do all of this for.
It was a privilege to work alongside such outstanding talent from both the cast and crew of this amazing show! 👸❄️💡
Thank you to BA Hons Technical Theatre & Stage Management at the University of Lincoln and Wes for providing me with such an enriching opportunity 🫶

Nottingham Confucius Institute presents: Hubei University Loong and Lion Art Troupe UK Tour. LX Design and op. Albert Hall, Nottingham- November 2024. With mhaslamTech

Worked with MhaslamTech Sound & Event Production on Friday, facilitating the Nottingham Confucius Institute and their presentation of the Hubei University Loong and Lion Art Troupe UK Tour! It was a great day, doing the load in, set up, rehearsal, show and the load out. The talent showcased was nothing short of incredible and I loved getting to light up the beautiful The Albert Hall Nottingham once again 💡🐉
