Do you live in Norwich? Norwich City Council is looking to hear about your experiences of entertainment, arts, culture, creativity and heritage in the city. Whether you take part in cultural or creative activities or not, a range of views from across Norwich are needed! All answers are confidential.

Your views will be used to help:
- identify gaps in the arts and culture in Norwich
- improve accessibility and coordination
- secure additional funding

You have the choice of providing your email if you want to be entered into a prize draw for £200.

"It's the only car park in Norwich that I use. I feel safe and it goes straight to the Forum with lifts, toilets and food and other facilities. Central to everything, the market and the main shopping roads. Some may say it's expensive but I feel it is worth it."

The Forum is open as usual on Monday 31 August (including the car park!) but our friends at Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library won't be in.

Just a reminder that Monday 31 August is the Summer Bank Holiday. And as a result, our libraries will be closed! The weather's looking a bit grim for the weekend, but we hold out hope there may be some sun (hence the beach-themed graphic). Either way, we hope everyone has a lovely Bank Holiday, preferably full of wonderful reading!

Norfolk HODs update: Many events are already fully booked, although there are still talks and guided walks with places available.
On our ticketing site alone, over 3400 tickets were booked within the hour of booking opening!

If you missed out on your top choices...
- There are over 190 amazing drop-in events which take place throughout the festival!
- Remember that lots of the organisations and venues that participate in HODs host events and tours at other times of the year. Do check their websites and socials for information, and support these fantastic places.
- When people let us know they cannot make an event they have booked for, we add these tickets back to the website, so do check back every so often to see if tickets have become available.

The boat is back in the Early Years Library at the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library, and it has a name!

When we reopened the Millennium Library after an extensive refurbishment, we put our brand new boat into the Early Years Library. However it actually needed a new top adding, so while we had it for opening day we sent it off to be finished. And now it’s back!

On opening day BBC Radio Norfolk asked their listeners what the boat could be called, and one person (we think they were called Steve? We’ll go with Steve) suggested…Read ‘em Ferry! Which we thought was extremely clever. Because Reedham Ferry. Read ‘em. Reedham. It’s clever wordplay and we’re here for it.

So, ‘Read ‘em Ferry’ is back and ready to set sail next time you come and visit us at the Millennium Library 🫡

What's on soon at The Forum 🧐

The Fine City Events Summer Fête is taking over The Forum's inside and outside spaces, for three days of food, fun and creativity this weekend (28-30 Aug)!

Run Norwich is back for its 11th year and takes place on Sun 6 Sep, but the build-up begins on 4 Sep at the race expo. The two-day pre-race celebration gives runners and supporters the chance to collect their race packs, enjoy a host of stands and activities, plus the opportunity to purchase 2026 merchandise.

The second screening of this membership year for The Forum Film Club is on Thu 10 Sep from 7pm, find out more about joining on our website!

For Norfolk Heritage Open Days (11-20 Sep), we welcome back a very special, and extended, collection of photographs of Norwich post World War Two by Jack Roberts. Discover how Norwich once was, hear some of the stories from those who lived and worked here and see archive films of the period from East Anglian Film Archive.

Also during Heritage Open Days, we have a range of fascinating talks taking place in The Auditorium that celebrate our local and cultural history. Plus, highly sought after behind-the-scenes tours of The Forum itself (must be pre-booked).

Discover the human stories behind the wheel in a powerful pop-up installation in a black cab, touring the UK this autumn, and outside The Forum 13-19 Sep. You can get your tickets for 'Driving Home' through Norwich Theatre.

Norfolk Heritage Open Days is back from 11–20 September 2026, bringing ten brilliant days of stories, surprises and special places to explore.

It’s your chance to peek behind normally closed doors, meet passionate local people and see Norfolk in a new way. From fascinating buildings and tucked-away spaces to hands-on activities and unforgettable experiences, there are 350+ events for everyone to enjoy, and it's all FREE!

Some events must be pre-booked. Most tickets can be booked online from Wednesday 26 August at 10am. Please check individual event listings for booking details. As well as the pre-book events, there are almost 200 drop-in events too!
