Halloween is my favourite time of the year.
This year I get to tell spooky tales, dress up and make some herbal potions, as the bells toll
Even if you came to the last one. This will be different. As we tell tall tales of local legends and how Halloween began.
Come dressed in fancy dress.
I have added more spaces. As the last session sold out.
Adults only, we deserve to be wicked too.

This painting was the one most people talked about, interacted, commented on the most.
It was a painting I did many years ago of horsford woods. The only difference now, was I added details, gave it a story.
In the distance, as far as the crows fly, stands the victoriana street lamp. The lamp should you walk past it, takes you through to another world. Like the magic wardrobe in narnia, where you face the street lamp as your landmark between worlds.
At the front of the painting and along the forest path I have hand embroidered wild flowers, not just wild flowers, these are poisions wild flowers, each has a lethal reaction.
So beware of the wild flowers for they will take on a journey to other worlds.

Being creative and a entrepreneur has its challenges. The amount of times I have fallen down that rabbit hole. Had that carrot dangled in front of me. It's hypnotic.
This year has just gone by in a blur, but along the way I have met some amazing people.

I took a step back and reflected on this year so far.
I have travelled, explored, researched and created.

The folklore workshops and botanical printmaking gives you the hint of where fabulous threads is leading too.
I thought of waiting till the new year but I am terrible at sitting on my hands.
With recent research fabulous threads will introduce new work with threads being the ultimate theme.
With threads we pull to unravel a story, to pull through time the layers through art, textiles and connections.

Good Morning
I have made the decision to cancel some of my classes for the rest of the year. it wasn't a easy choice. But I am struggling to juggle a work life balance. My son hasn't returned to college, and my own work practices are left at the bottom of the to do pile. I am working towards one project after another and not being able to research and develop my own practices.
So there are just 3 workshops available before christmas. so please take a look on the website.
People ask me if I can you do this workshop, and i always say yes, and i squeeze it inn. The hours it takes to research, practice a technique, put the plans together, advertise it, it can take days and hours, and then no one books. Not even the person who asked in the first place.
So this isn't the end of Fabulous Threads, I am taking time to practice, so I can share with you in the future.

Early morning walk with the dogs this morning. A chance to take stock and cut out the noise. Breath a little. I normally have a break in October as it is my favourite month. The air is changing, the colours in nature. This year is almost over and although I have done lots of things, I feel there is more do achieve.
I have a whole host of workshops in november. But I feel I am moving in a different direction.
So I will still be offering textiles but I won't be offering as many session next year. Creating workshops takes so much time and energy, and then I dont get enough bookings to keep them going.

So book the last session for 2026. As fabulous Threads begins a new journey in 2027
