It's that time of year again and I've done my first Christmas and Winter Reminiscences with a wonderful group of ladies at the Women's Institute.

I mostly work with older people in the community. Age is just a number, it is what you make of life and this lady has an amazing zest for life at 107. What an amazing inspirational story.

Yesterday I was at the wonderful Mabel Rose Day Centre in Plumstead. The room was set up like a street party, everyone wearing hats and such wonderful decorations. Everyone enjoyed specially iced cakes and a tasty lunch.

I had a great day at Mabel Rose Day Centre yesterday where we reminisced about transport memories. We remembered our motorbikes, memories of being a mod on a vespa or lambretta or a rocker on a bigger bike. We remembered our driving test, giving hand signals and hill starts. We remembered having a bicycle as a child and mending a puncture with a special kit and using a bucket of water to see where the puncture was. Pictures by Mabel Rose Day Centre, Plumstead.

On behalf of our President and members of Reepham WI, I wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks for your wonderful presentation last night. The room was filled with laughter, nostalgia, and so many fond memories!

The props you brought were engaging and added a fun, interactive element that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. It was a delightful experience for all of us as we reminisced about the simpler days of life without the internet and mobile phones.

We truly appreciate the time and effort you put into making the evening so special for us. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future!

Today's fabulous group at Wymondham. Lots of stories about childhood. A lady read a poem she had written and told us about meeting her husband when they were in the same class at primary school. By 9 she loved him and knew she would marry him one day. Some of the group brought in their childhood toys and games, a child's chair and dads old walking stick. We reminisced about the sweets we loved, joining scout or guiding groups and childhood friends. Someone shared techniques for putting on a terry nappy and folding it differently for boys and girls!

Yesterday we talked about the 'old' money, remembering pounds, shillings and pence. We remembered putting a shilling in the meter, why we say 'spending a penny' and putting coins in the Christmas Pudding. Decimalisation came in over 50 years ago but it seems like yesterday.
