I'll have a stall at this wonderful Fair so pop down, say hi, and grab some books while you're here!
The Plumstead Road Library Friends have their annual May Fair happening at the Plumstead Road Library on Saturday, 25th May, from 10:30-2:30pm to help raise money for all the wonderful work that the Friends do to promote the library. Packed full of local crafters and tasty treats, this Fair also marks the return of the FREE BOOK EXCHANGE!
We put out a call for new stall holders a few weeks ago – and within a couple of hours – every stall was booked. The Library Friends are delighted to announce that Isobel Stubbs from Inspiring Imaginations will be there with her preschool play kits. Based at Hillside Avenue Primary & Nursery School, Isobel is an expert at getting children kitted out with everything they need to get creative. Tania Munroe from Treat4u will be bringing her delicious pick & mix sweets and will also be selling a fantastic range of candles. Tasha Godfrey from Scent with Love will be there with her wax melts and room sprays – basically everything you need to make your house smell beautiful.
Stacey Ogden from Lazy Bug Rugs will be there selling her brilliant, custom-made rugs, jewellery, badges and mystery bags. If you fancy pampering yourself, look no further than Laura Ashwell, who will be joining us with her top range of skincare and body care products. Next up is local lady Debbie Russell, who will be back with her unmistakable homemade crafts raising money for the Lost and Found Cats in Norwich. Laura Hamblet will be there with a Little taste of sparkle, selling her unique range of jewellery, mugs, pencil cases, keyrings, badges, coasters – you name it – she does it!
Refreshments will of course be on sale, and the ever-popular tombola will be back. To top things off… Andy's Racing Automodels, Slot Car Hire. will also be there with his thrilling Grand Prix Scaletrix track. It’s all going on!
And last but not least, the May Fair marks the return of the Free Book Exchange. The first one was a real success. So many people turned up with their books to swap for FREE. Yep, you heard it right, all you have to do is show up on the day with your books, and you can exchange them for any from the stall. Bring 1 book, get a new one from our collection. Bring 2, exchange 2. Bring 3...you get the picture! As the day goes on, who knows what books will arrive at the Exchange for you to choose from. Don't worry if you forget to bring your books to exchange, you can always buy any book from the stall for £1. The Library Friends just want to make sure that everyone leaves the Fair with big smiles on their faces.
