Thank you to our lovely audience for supporting the launch of The Communal Ear last week. It was a lovely show in a beautiful space.

On Thursday October 23rd the programme continues with some big music in a big space, featuring:

BEAM SPLITTER - visceral sonics and sub frequencies from Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø & Chen

LEDLEY - industrial acoustics and amplified brass from Chris Williams & Raph Clarkson

Music for 100 metronomes from Ligeti’s Poème Symphonique performed by Eastern Ear (and whoever wants to help…)

Set in perhaps Norwich’s most reverberant indoor space, The Shoe Factory Social Club at St Mary’s Works.

In three weeks today, at .studios we will host our next Plink Plonk; our live concert series bringing experimental and improvised music to the region

Featuring visceral sound explorations from .wu, tectonic solo bass music from and an extremely special (inaugural) performance from the Brainwave project, where musical dialogue is created from the transposition of brainwave activity.

We present 'Gathering Dust' - an extended piece by Morris Masuda from minidisc recordings made at The Gathering - Maggie Nicols' improv sessions in London, plus 'Atalanta Fugiens I​-​X' by Phil Archer - a 10-part suite made with a circuit-bent keyboard and other instruments.

We’re very excited to re-launch The Plank with an exciting programme for 2023.

Thanks to a grant from the Ranworth Trust we have been able to invite guest artists to deliver a range of engaging workshops, and make use of some new venues and spaces.

Although aimed at those interested in sound and improvisation, the sessions are informal and open to anyone.
