Wotz goin on ere then is that it's all finished, up on the wall and looking absolutely stunning. Even though I have seen this every day for almost two years I cannot believe how amazing, amazing, amazing it looks on completion. You have all done a truly wonderful and professional job.
Big thankyou all round.

Only one week to go for our celebration. We have a really nice mini marketplace selling plants, jewellery, mosaic, local honey, bags, things from Peru (the home of the lovely Paddington Bear) , children's books by local author Mike Beddard, face painting for the little ones and, of course, it would not be a day out without an icecream - supplied by Riverside Organics. Well done that man !

Bar will be open with a guest appearance of Pimms for the beautiful summers day that we have pre - ordered. Tea and cake organized by The Davenham Players - what a bunch of stars.

John Bishop has very kindly agreed to do the unveiling for us.

Please bring your families and friends. Can't wait to see you all again. Theatre and stalls open at 1.30pm and the official mosaic unavailing will take place shortly after 2pm.

The frames are up and fit perfectly thanks to Trev our very talented fix-everything guy.

Just doing a bit of final tidying up of the panels then we are all on track for our celebration day on Sunday 11 th Sept. Hope you can all make it, 1:30 onwards. Bring your friends and family.

Watch this space......

We are slowly getting there. All the steel frames have now been completed, made by the fabulously talented Trev Pickering, and taken to the galvanizers for the weatherproofing.
We have a provisional date for our celebration day.
As soon as its confirmed I will let you all know.

Hi All

At long last we have some positive news!!!

The installation of the mosaic has been somewhat delayed due to technical issues BUT........

We now have a confirmed date for our celebration day.

It will be Sunday 11th September from 1.30 onwards.

The licensed bar in the theatre will be open, there will be goodies to eat( we've already been promised several yummy home made cakes); we will have a small mosaic exhibition; opportunity to sign up for mosaic classes and a separate ongoing mosaic panel that everybody can have a little go at if the fancy takes you, (as if you have not already put enough work in!!!)

We would love to see as many of you as possible to celebrate the fantastic community mosaic you have produced.

Really exciting stuff, everything crossed for a bright, sunny day.
JJ

Hi everybody, apologies it's been so quiet on the Davenham front but there has been loads going on behind the scenes. Thought you might appreciate an update.........

The main body of the mosaic work is now finished, the steel has arrived for the frames and in now in the hands of an extremely capable frame maker. When the first frame is made we can drop some panels into it and tidy up the mosaic work to the edge of the frame. This will tell us how long we need to finish all the frames/edges and we can set a date for our official opening celebration day. We had hoped to do it on the bank holiday at the end of this month but for technical reasons this is not now possible.

WATCH THIS SPACE. As soon as we know, you will know.

Can't wait to see your fantastic work finished and hanging on the wall in the village. It will then officially be a piece of 'Public Art' and a credit to all of you that have participated in the project in whatever capacity.

Enjoy the sunshine. Hopefully we'll be getting together very soon.
