This was our very first project to kick off the new term back in January. After looking at classic vintage travel posters for inspiration, the students used poly coloured pencils to bring these bold, dramatic designs to life. I absolutely love how they turned out! 🎨✨

What a spectacular finale to our term! 🎨✨

​We are absolutely bursting with pride after our end-of-term exhibition!

​Over 13 weeks, our incredible students journeyed through pencil drawing, oil pastels, watercolours, and acrylics.

Looking at the walls, it is amazing to see just how much they have achieved and how hard they have worked. From beautiful portraits to vibrant still life, the talent on display was truly inspiring.

​A massive THANK YOU to all the friends and family who came out to support our artists. You helped make the day truly special. ❤️

There is something so satisfying about finding the structure within the organic. 📐🌿

For this piece, students explored a "Cubist" approach to a rocky valley stream.

The goal? To look past the details and see the shapes and forms underneath.

​We used watercolor to build subtle glazes, layer by layer, turning flat shapes into three-dimensional forms.

It requires a lot of patience to let each layer dry, but the depth it creates is worth it.

Rainy days in Paris, captured in watercolour 🌧️🇫🇷

For this piece we focused heavily on mastering subtle watercolour washes to create that soft, atmospheric sense of a drizzly afternoon.

Capturing the "feeling" of rain without overworking the paper is a challenge, but my students absolutely rose to the occasion! They did a fantastic job balancing grey skies with the wet reflections. It was wonderful to see them interpret this theme and find their own rhythm with the washes.

✨ Student Success: 'Wrought in Time' 🕰️

It's been fantastic seeing the results from our recent watercolour pieces!

Students were tasked with creating their own mixed media watercolour. ​The challenge was to interpret the architectural elements, the detailed wrought iron fence, and the complex autumnal foliage using watercolour and other media.

​Each student demonstrated excellent control of both watercolour techniques and mixed media integration. Well done to all! 🧡
