☀️Mental health service-users enjoyed a 🍗🌭BBQ with jerk chicken and jallof rice by the OT team, with afro-beats, country and honky-tonk 🪇🎻music & line-dancing by Naked Frank Theatre today at one of our Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust facilities. Fun in the sun! It was fabulous to see family and carers enjoying the community spirit. 😍

🤩ANNOUNCEMENT! 🤩We are proud to announce, we have been funded by Arts Council England to produce BETTER FUTURES 27! 🥳💝🥰🎧🎼🎹🎬🎤

BETTER FUTURES 27 is an arts engagement project for improving young people’s mental health! From September to February 27 we are offering a programme of workshops to participating groups themed around storytelling through acting, music, voice, movement, choreography, and digital capture.

These workshops will provide young people with the creative skills and techniques needed to autonomously produce a digitally captured performance piece in response to the stimulus “my life in memory” and bridge the gap between mental health services and the educational environment. The material produced is a reflection of the most important and impactful aspects of their childhoods, as they remember them.

Works will then be presented at a ticketed public exhibition event in , Spring 2027. A full day of workshops with arts professionals, mental health specialists and for the community will be held! Watch this space!🤸‍♀️🤩☀️🥳🍀🔥🌈

We also have additional placement opportunities for selected participants to join us and participate in workshop leadership, arts facilitation, project management, directing and producing.

🤩We are extremely proud to announce we have been funded by Colyer Fergusson. 👏👏👏

This funding makes our music recording sessions with mental health service-users sustainable and purposeful, we are very grateful and feel privileged to be able to provide these sessions.

For some of the service-users, these sessions are the ONLY form of self-expression they are able to attend for many years.
