As rehearsals start for our new season of shows, we're looking back at our fantastic 2025/2026 season.

We returned to the beautiful Church of the Holy Sepulchre for Othello by William Shakespeare, directed by Patricia Coleman. A powerful story of ambition and heartbreak and one of Shakespeare's greatest tragedies, we were thrilled to bring this demanding and psychologically complex play to the Masque stage for the first time since 1978.

Before we jump full steam ahead into our new season, we're looking back at the incredible shows that made up our 2025/2026 line-up.

In February we took to the stage in Christ Church Hall with Habeas Corpus by Alan Bennett, directed by Clare Brittain. Described as "A riotous romp through the chaos of the human body — and the even messier human heart" this 1973 comedy can divide audiences; with some finding joy in the raucous subject matter, while others deem the humour 'of it's time'. Nevertheless, curtain calls were enthusiastic throughout our run.

Ahead of our new season of shows, we're looking back at our fantastic 2025/2026 season.

December saw us venture to The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens, adapted and directed by Maggie Holland. Not often seen on stage, The Old Curiosity Shop offered us a timeless tale of resilience, tragedy and showcased the enduring power of hope.

This production was dedicated to Owen Warr who had been part of Masque Theatre since 1969.

As we prepare for our new season of shows, we thought we'd take this opportunity to look back at our fantastic 2025/2026 season!

We launched the season in October with Edward the Second by Christopher Marlowe directed by Rob Kendall.

A tale of power, ambition, love and revenge, the show took on powerful LGBT themes resonating with modern audiences, making it far more than a historical piece of political power-play.
