Picky New Promotions are excited to welcome back to The Lab our fave Brighton hard rockers HONEYBADGER on Fri Aug 28th!

Brighton trio Honeybadger blend punk, grunge, and alt-rock into a powerful, riff-driven sound and explosive live show. Made up of brothers Eddy and Joe alongside lifelong friend Luca, the band has quickly emerged as one of the UK's most exciting new rock acts, earning 'Ones to Watch' recognition from Rolling Stone UK and SPIN, support from BBC Radio 1 and Planet Rock, and major streaming playlist placements. Following standout festival appearances and the release of new singles “Gonna Break” and “Killswitch,” Honeybadger are building momentum toward their 2026 EP State of Play and a nationwide tour with Sick Joy.⚡️

Picky New Promotions are proud to bring JOE & THE SH*TBOYS to Northampton, all the way from the Faroe Islands!

Joe & The S**tboys are a fiercely outspoken q***r vegan sh*tpunk band from the Faroe Islands, known for taking aim at homophobia, misogyny, meat-eating culture, and general bad behaviour through fast, furious songs and chaotic, high-energy live shows. Fronted by the irreverent Joe S**t, the band has built a cult following through relentless touring, unconventional performances, and three critically acclaimed albums. Their reputation has been further boosted by vocal support from Iggy Pop, who has championed their music on BBC Radio 6 Music and invited them to join his 2025 UK tour. With their blend of hardcore punk, sharp humour, and social commentary, Joe & The S**tboys continue to spread their message through new music and riotous live performances.⚡️

Picky New Promotions and are excited to present the second Groove Session at Abington Groove, this time featuring American grungegaze band GLIMMER!

Since forming in 2023, Glimmer have earned praise from NPR, Stereogum, BrooklynVegan, and CREEM, alongside Spotify playlist placements and tours across the US and Europe. Their debut album, Get Weak, pairs powerful hooks with lush, dreamlike textures.

Bored Marsh are one of Nottingham’s most exciting emerging bands, and we’re buzzing to bring them to Leicester this summer!☀️

Blending post-punk, shoegaze, grunge and new wave influences, their sound combines reverb-drenched atmospheres, soaring harmonies and darker, heavier moments, drawing comparisons to Interpol, Radiohead and Editors.

Since debuting live in 2022, they’ve earned support from BBC Radio, Under The Radar, Louder Than War and God Is In The TV, while standout festival appearances, sold-out shows and growing acclaim have marked them out as a band on the rise.

Fresh from the release of their debut mini-album ‘Auralux’, Belfast shoegaze outfit Silk are bringing their immersive live show to The Lab this June.

The highly anticipated six-track release is the work of songwriter and guitarist Michael Smyth, formerly of the acclaimed Irish band ‘Virgins’. As the sole writer, performer and recording artist behind Silk, Auralux is a deeply personal project, shaped entirely by Smyth’s vision.

“There is no beauty in perfection; it feels fake and manufactured to me,” says Michael. “I want the record to feel real, so this is the sound of visceral self-expression.”

Following a string of successful singles throughout 2025 and appearances across Ireland - including performances at GazeFest alongside Whitelands and Sweet Sweet Noise - Silk have quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting new names in Irish shoegaze.

Lead single ‘Clementine’ saw the project venture into darker, more abrasive territory, embracing layers of texture, distortion and intensity. Across ‘Auralux’, shimmering, euphoric guitars collide with crushing walls of fuzz, while cascading reverbs and dreamlike atmospherics create a vast and immersive soundscape.

Lyrically, the record explores themes of memory, mortality, love, loss and the passage of time. Equal parts introspective and overwhelming, ‘Auralux’ is a cathartic journey delivered through volume, atmosphere and emotion.
