💌A whole day dedicated to paper, creativity and the little things that make us ridiculously happy! ✂️

💙A trip to London to meet the QUEEN of junk journaling herself, , at the beautiful , and get our hands on her gorgeous new book, The Art of Snail Mail.

✍🏼And as if that wasn’t lovely enough, we met some wonderful fellow creatives in the queue who were generously sharing little handmade goodies … a snail mail scrap paper set and the cutest little bracelet! 🥹💕

✍🏼Beautiful stationery, inspiring people, lots of chatting and absolutely no rushing.

💙 A little reminder of how lovely it is to find people who share your kind of joy.

💙One thing I’ve started ensuring sure I always make room for on holiday… a bit of creativity 🎨

✍🏼Here are a few little creative moments from our summer holiday … junk journaling, watercolours, painting, sketching… and generally just creating things because we fancied it.

💙 I love that holidays give you a bit more space for this. No workshop to prep for, no finished piece needed, no pressure to make it “good”…

✍🏼Just time to play.

💙And getting to share that with my girls makes it even more special 🥹

I think creativity is one of those things that’s even better when you share it.

💙My second summer of taking a selection of creative supplies with me on holiday and I can’t recommend it enough.

✍🏼It brings a WHOLE new level of relaxation and calm. I took my journal on a boat trip and sketched… we did watercolours on the pier… on the beach… on our terrace… absolute bliss.

✍🏼September always feels a little bit like opening a brand-new notebook.

The teacher in me loves the excitement of the new start and new stationery. It definitely feels more like the start of the year than January ever can!

✍🏼Fresh pages. New pens. New ideas.

A little bit of possibility.

💙This month’s Calligraphy Circle is all about a gentle reset …. absolutely NOT new term, new me… just a little space to pause, create and think about what you’d like to carry into the season ahead. (And what you want to leave behind)

✂️ One project idea is this little concertina book of September reminders, filling its pages with beautiful words, quotes and intentions to keep close. Not to be filled in all at once… we don’t want any more pressure on us!

And because apparently I can’t resist a stationery moment… 😂

💙We had the most stressful journey back home from Turkey last week with the craziest, busiest airport I’ve ever known and long delays … so when our suitcases didn’t appear on the carousel, it was safe to say our stress levels were HIGH 😩😂

✍🏼Of course I wanted all our luggage back (including wedding outfits for my girls for two days later 🤦🏼‍♀️🤯) but there were three things I was particularly worried about…

1. My handbag.
2. My necklace.
3. And my folder full of holiday “rubbish” 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

💙Because if you’re a creative person, you’ll understand that tea bags, pretty packaging, breakfast buffet jam pots and random wrappers are NOT rubbish when you’ve been collecting them for your junk journal!!

These things couldn’t be replaced!

🙏🏼THANKFULLY … after 5 looong days … everything eventually made its way back to us.
