This week’s featured artist at The Artizen is Alison Johnson. ✨

This is where the whole home transformation finally came together. ✨

Although the living room was originally expected to need less work, it soon became clear that it deserved the same thoughtful approach as the rest of the home.

The layout was reconsidered, new sofas were chosen and the room was opened up to create space for side tables, greenery and additional seating. Most importantly, the new arrangement allowed the artwork to be framed and enjoyed properly.

As always, the art led the direction.

The blues, greens and greys within Enzo and Eros by Joe Galindo became the foundation for the palette, while a deep green feature wall created a striking backdrop for Spotted by Paul James. A bespoke owl commission then brought personal meaning to the room and became an atmospheric focal point above the sideboard.

Soft curtains, layered textures, a cowhide rug, greenery, adapted furniture, multiple light sources and carefully selected fragrances all contributed to a room that feels complete from every angle.

The result is a living space designed for different moments and moods — somewhere to relax, entertain and simply breathe.

Are they really worth it?🤔 Totally, if you can see past what you can get ‘off the shelf’… This is what we mean.

Sometimes the most statement artworks go in the most unexpected spaces… Like bathrooms.👀😱🛁

And it gets better… This was a specially commissioned piece, tailored to fit the shape of the wall and elevate the space.😏🤩

Because style is about the attention to detail of your whole home, not just the spaces your guests see the most.😉✨

There was already a visual reference point, a photograph that captured the mood the owners were drawn to, but it was not the right size, proportion or perspective for the space. It was also quite flat in texture as photographs are compared to original artworks in oil or acrylic.

We wanted something dramatic and immersive, but we could never have imagined it would feel this alive.

brought that feeling to life in the most extraordinary way.

Installed in its new home, the piece has taken pride of place ever since, transforming the bathroom into something almost cinematic. It is one of those artworks that invites you to pause and keep looking.

Interestingly, before installation the piece spent time on display at The Artizen, where it became one of the most talked about works in the gallery. Visitors were captivated by it and many commented it could have sold there and then.

That response only reinforced something the commission had already proven.

Sometimes off the shelf simply is not the best answer for a space.

Sometimes a room deserves something conceived especially for it.

Miraculous artworks are born from art consultants that care, talented artists and open minded collectors who are happy to trust the creative journey created specially for their homes.😊❤️
